JACKSON MI Thanks to a slew of birdies Brian Stuard is heading to the weekend after his second round at the Reno Tahoe Open.
Stuard who finished the opening round with one point carded four birdies and two bogeys during his second round to finish with six points.
Stuard sits tied with six others in 59th place with seven points. He avoided the cut by one point.
Leading the way into the third round is Andres Romero with 22 points while Gary Woodland sits in second with 21 points.
Stuard got out quick on the back nine with back to back birdies on Nos. 10 and 11. After five consecutive pars he collected a bogey followed by a par to close out the back nine.
He collected another bogey on No. 1 but recovered with a birdie on No. 2. Following back to back pars on Nos. 3 and 4 Stuard carded his fourth and final birdie on No. 5. He parred out the final four holes to finish with six points.
Stuard will tee off on the front nine at at 8 20 a.m. Saturday and will be paired with Chris Riley. The Golf Channel will air coverage from 7 9 p.m. Saturday.
