In his first public appearance since it was revealed that he knocked up his friend s wife the man known for eviscerating wanna be stars on TV went silent.

Unfortunately for the moment I have to keep this private Cowell said meekly before a phalanx of reporters at Fox s Television Critics Association panel in Beverly Hills.
