Cookies by Design a popular Bethesda bakery franchise that offers custom gifts and gourmet cookies was recently closed by Montgomery County health inspectors because they discovered evidence of mice WUSA9 reported.
Inspectors who were responding to a complaint reported seeing a live mouse according to the report.
The store opened again following a temporary closure and a re inspection but a WUSA9 reporter who visited the store on camera discovered mouse droppings behind the cookie pans near the refrigerators and in the center of the store.
The owner told WUSA9 cleanup was continuing and she was complying with health inspectors' requests.
