Pro wrestler Doink the Clown was found dead in his girlfriend s Texas apartment on Friday.
The greasepaint slathered prankster whose real name was Matt Osborne was mainly known for the tricks he played on other wrestlers and fans during the 1990s.

Details of his death are still emerging. The second generation fighting machine was 55 years old when he died PWInsider confirms.
The late wrestler was primed for life in the ring by his dad Tough Tony Borne who fought in the Pacific Northwest and Texas circuits.

He s been Maniac Matt Borne a fighter with a wild streak and Big Josh a rugged outdoorsman turned wrestler. But according to WWE his most enduring act was as Doink the Clown.
Dressed in a colorful clown suit face paint and his trademark bright green wig Doink started appearing in the audience during shows in the early 1990s. The evil clown would prank fans and cause havoc. Doink would go on to defeat the late Bryan Crush Adams during a Wrestlemania tournament double teaming with an identical Doink the Clown who bullied his way into the ring and slapped Adams with a fake arm.

The idea of having multiple Doinks allowed Osborne to take his clown show on the road after the WWE decided to let him go in 1993. Since then he had been traveling around around the country signing autographs acting as a mentor and wrestling in independent tournaments.
In a statement World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) called Osborne a rugged brawler who made a major impact as one of the most enduring personas of the early 90s.
WWE is saddened by the news of Osborne's passing. Our deepest condolences go out to Osborne s family friends and fans the company said.
