As the U.S. and Germany started facing off in a critical World Cup game ESPN.com was having some issues.The site wouldn't load for us and WatchESPN which makes it easy for people to watch the game on their computers from work didn't seem to be working either.
Here's a statement from ESPN First half peaked at more than 1.4 million concurrent viewers on WatchESPN a record. Investigating some limited issues due to unprecedented demand.
ESPN also says that the site overall was never down for any users.
Since most people are at work and don't have access to a TV WatchESPN is their primary option.
