Johnny Manziel didn't even play baseball in college though I'm sure he played in high school. He spent his college career on the gridiron becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy and getting a tiny little bit of media attention along the way.

Manziel was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 24th overall pick in the NFL draft back in April. He's not playing baseball I can tell you that right now. It's unlikely the Browns will allow him to play in the minor leagues during the summer so this is a publicity stunt more than anything.

As you might remember Manziel threw a bootleg first pitch at Petco Park back in 2013

The Rangers drafted Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in December's Rule 5 Draft. He actually played minor eague baseball for two years before returning to college and having success in football.
