Those zombies really have you going Orlando.
The Walking Dead ranked third in total viewers for Central Sunday night. But the zombie apocalypse was the overwhelming favorite with the 18 to 49 age group. Dead drew 139 798 viewers in that age group while the No. 2 show NBC's Sunday Night Football had 73 999.
The most watched show starting in prime time in this market was CBS' long running 60 Minutes with 210 559 total viewers. (It followed the Indianapolis Pittsburgh football runover which had 311 276 viewers in the 7 p.m. hour.) Sunday Night Football with the Saints and Packers drew 191 221 for NBC. The Walking Dead had 180 363 total viewers.
Rounding out the top five in total viewers were two CBS dramas Madam Secretary with 148 111 and The Good Wife 114 941. The football overrun pushed the CBS lineup back by one hour and CSI was preempted in this market. Close behind the top five were NBC's Football Night in America Part 3 with 112 111 and ABC's Once Upon a Time with 104 460.
Favorites of the 18 to 49 age group were The Walking Dead Sunday Night Football AMC's Talking Dead companion to the zombie drama 60 Minutes and Football Night in America Part 3.
Early national ratings showed a tighter than usual contest in prime time averages NBC and CBS with 13.8 million apiece Fox with 12.6 million for the World Series and ABC with 4.5 million.
These numbers provide just a preliminary look at viewing patterns. The NBC number will climb because of football. CBS averaged 20.5 million viewers from football in the 7 p.m. hour. The Packers Saints game peaked at 9 p.m. with 18.5 million according to early numbers.
The rest of the CBS lineup 60 Minutes with 13.5 million viewers Madam Secretary with 11.6 million and The Good Wife with 9.6 million.
ABC's best was Once Upon a Time with 6.6 million.
