Progressive Leasing opening Glendale center hiring 500 workers

A Utah company that provides lease to own financing at retail stores is opening a new operations center in Glendale and could hire as many as 500 employees by the end of next year.

Draper Utah based Progessive Leasing has leased 20 000 square feet at the Talavi Corporate Center near 57th Avenue and Bell Road in Glendale.

The company is an arm of Aaron's Inc. (NYSE AAN).

Progressive which is not affiliated with the insurance company plans on hiring 50 employees per month through next year. It's the financing firm's first foray outside of Utah.

The company is hiring underwriters collections officers customer service representatives and support staff.

Our new Glendale facility is an important part of Progressive's growth plan and our 'always up' strategy Progressive CFO and COO Ryan Woodley said in a statement. Our expansion requires a great labor force superior facilities and few geographic or weather anomalies. Glendale was a perfect fit for our needs.

Ashley Brooks Jim Bayless and Jenny Aust with CBRE Group's Phoenix office negotiated the lease between the landlord Los Angeles based ROF II Talavi LLC and the tenant.

The Valley has been attracting a number of back office call and other operations centers this year.

Brian Friedman economic development director for the city of Glendale said the local labor pool and his city's emphasis on fast tracking permits and other services for business helped attract Progressive.

Our process for expedited development services has really given us the reputation of working with the client to ensure they open within their time frame Friedman said.
