Cleveland Cavaliers should tackle inexperienced playoff push how Tristan ...

CLEVELAND Ohio Following an impressive inspiring win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday Cavaliers' forward Tristan Thompson was caught off guard with an unexpected odd ball question.

Are you happy with the minutes you're playing asked a reporter who I've never seen before after Thompson's 12 points and eight boards in 21 minutes off the bench was instrumental in helping his team secure huge nationally televised win.

Are you happy with our results Thompson swiftly responded with a mystified expression on his face.

The funny thing is the reporter actually thought Thompson misheard him and repeated his question. No I said are you happy with your minutes in which Thompson quickly replied with And I said are you happy with our results

The point of that awkward account is to illustrate that Thompson has been around the block a time or two. That situation wasn't foreign territory to him he knows when he's being set up.

They can't come at me like that Chris Thompson said. I'm too polished for that.

But there is a destination Thompson finds strange and unfamiliar and it's where he's currently at in this moment in time on a postseason bound team jockeying for playoff positioning.

Having never done it before the four year forward will soon find himself checking out the NBA standings.

For me I really don't know when you're supposed to start looking because I haven't been to the playoffs yet he said. But I haven't looked at it yet.

Thompson Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are all key components to the Cavaliers' quest for a championship and will be counted on immensely for production. None of them have playoff experience under their belts.

Cleveland's next 15 games will be a nightmare as 11 of those are on the road. This brutal stretch will challenge the team's resolve especially for those who aren't used to playing for anything of meaning in the second half.

It's tough to keep present and not look ahead but we'll try our best to just continue to play game to game Love said.

Irving will lean on those who have been there done that.

It's definitely new territory for me but I think the guys that we have in this locker room will make up for our lack of experience Irving said. We have guys in here who have been through it all so that's invaluable for a player like myself.

The Cavaliers' veteran laden squad became much wiser and experienced with the addition of one time NBA champ Kendrick Perkins. The big man says the Cavaliers have all the components to be a championship team.

With a considerable portion of the team having never participated in the playoffs and for Thompson who has never glanced at the standings to see their positioning in the playoff mix Perkins dismissed the notion of experience being what it's made out to be.

I just think as long as you have the right vets around you it's alright Perkins said. You just got to get that first playoff series out the way. After that it's just who wants it the most.

We'll soon found out what Irving Love and Thompson are truly made of.

But if the way Thompson addressed that reporter's anomalous questioning is a sign of how the Cavaliers will fare in the postseason they'll very well end up asking the final dagger of a question

Are you happy with our results
