Is the Cavaliers Matthew Dellavedova crossing the line with his play (poll)

CLEVELAND Ohio After the Cavaliers defeated the Hawks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals Sunday the talk was about the play that resulted in Al Horford's ejection for a Flagrant 2 foul.

Horford was tangled up with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova when Horford threw an apparent elbow near Dellavedova's head and shoulder area.

After the game multiple Atlanta Hawks players said that Dellavedova has a track record of not playing the right way. Social media had fans saying that Dellavedova is a dirty player while other fans were saying that he was just a player making all of the hustle plays.

The phrase that kept getting said in the Hawks' locker room was he has a track record.

This is not the first scuffle that Dellavedova has been involved with in this postseason. It started in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Chicago Bulls when Dellavedova was tangled up with the Bulls' Taj Gibson.

On that play Gibson was also given a Flagrant 2 foul while Dellavedova was given a technical foul the day after the game.

Also in this series it was Dellavedova who was diving for a loose ball when Kyle Korver suffered an ankle injury that will force him to miss four to six months.

So is Dellavedova a dirty player as the Hawks suggest Or is he just doing what any NBA player should be doing Here is a case for both sides.

The case that Dellavedova is playing reckless

As Randall Terry once said Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. If this was the first time that Dellavedova had been involved in a scuffle Horford probably would not have responded like this.

Horford does not have a reputation of being a dirty player in fact the complete opposite. He is one of the more respected players in the NBA but he was obviously frustrated with Dellavedova.

His frustrations are probably in large part because of Korver's injury.

Of all three of the events the first one with Gibson is the one where Dellavedova was the most involved. The video does show that Dellavedova does lock Gibson's leg with his feet. Was that intentional No one knows but Dellavedova but the fact he has been involved in three situations like these opponents are going to start taking notice.

The case that Dellavedova is doing nothing wrong

Hearing LeBron James talk about his teammate after the game that is all you need to do know on where his teammates stand. Dellavedova is a player who was overlooked by many people as he went undrafted in 2013.

He is a player who is not going to overwhelm opponents with supreme quickness or athleticism and the way he going to make plays is to give it his all.

Dellavedova diving for a loose ball is no different than the sequence late in game 3 where nearly all 10 players on the court were diving on the floor for a loose ball James said.

Even in the postgame Horford said he didn't think what Dellavedova did was malicious but he was just frustrated in part because one of his teammates is out the rest of the playoffs.

Veteran Delivers Powerful Message About the True Meaning of Memorial Day

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran who believes that too many Americans fail to recognize the true meaning of Memorial Day delivered a brief history lesson as well as a powerful message about the holiday s true meaning urging people to take the time to pay homage to the men and women who died while wearing the cloth of this nation.

Jennie Haskamp delivered this sentiment in a Washington Post op ed on Friday reminding the public that Memorial Day is about remembering the lives of Americans who have died defending the freedoms the nation holds dear and taking aim at what she believes to be an increasing disconnect surrounding the day of remembrance.

I m angry. I ve come to realize people think Memorial Day is the official start of summer she wrote. It s grilled meat super duper discounts a day (or two) off work beer potato salad and porches draped in bunting. But it shouldn t be. It s more than that.

Haskamp went on in the piece to deliver the history behind Memorial Day noting that it was at first called Decoration Day when it was created by Gen. John Logan 150 years ago. The day of remembrance which involved decorating the graves of those lost in battle was first observed on May 30 1868 she noted.

This rich history of remembering the deceased has left Haskamp wondering how contemporary society has gotten Memorial Day so wrong.

How is it then some century and a half later after more than a decade of war in two countries that claimed the lives of some 6 861 Americans we are collectively more concerned with having a barbecue and going shopping than pausing to appreciate the cost of our freedom to do so she wrote. I m frustrated by people all over the country who view the day as anything but a day to remember our WAR DEAD. I hate hearing Happy Memorial Day.

Haskamp reminded readers that Memorial Day isn t Veterans Day as the latter day of remembrance is intended to honor anyone who has served in the armed forced Memorial Day in contrast honors only those who have died in service.

NY Rangers frustrated by Tampas sudden shot blocking ways

NEW YORK There was a time not so long ago when playing the New York Rangers meant having a good portion of your shots blocked. That was back when the Rangers had John Tortorella a volcano that had taken on human form as their head coach.

But times have changed. The current incarnation of the Rangers was 18th in blocked shots in the 2014 15 regular season. Their opponents in the Eastern Conference Final the Tampa Bay Lightning were 20th blocking an average of 13.4 shots per game.

The Lightning s highest total of the Final was 17 blocks which they achieved in Games 1 and 2 at the Garden. But in their 2 0 Game 5 victory they dropped down and blocked 24 Rangers shots helping to slow down an offense that had tallied 10 goals in their last two games against goalie Ben Bishop.

For Lightning winger Brian Boyle who played on those Tortorella teams in New York blocked shots are the catalyst for offensive frustration.

Yeah it's frustrating when you get your shot blocked. I know that. When we see guys block shots on the bench and everybody s up. It's a momentum shift he said on Monday. I think it picks everybody up. So to be able to do that I think it just goes into our concept of team defense and making sure we do everything we can to keep the puck out of our net.

And it kept the puck out in Game 5 to the Rangers chagrin.

They did a great job of defending blocking lanes and blocking shots and it made it really challenging for us said Rangers coach Alain Vigneault.

That included the Bolts penalty kill which shut down the Rangers attack after they entered the game having scored two power play goals in each of the last three contests.

Our execution was a little bit slow tonight on the power play. Because it was slow it made it easier for them to defend. We didn't get very many looks on it and obviously that was a big part of tonight's game said Vigneault.

When it comes to momentum the power play giveth and taketh away.

I thought that was the whole key to the game said Lightning coach Jon Cooper of the penalty kill. We reel off I mean we take a few penalties there and especially one of the big things that we challenged the guys was special teams. I mean we have to step up here boys. To give up two power play goals in I think three consecutive games that's not going to win you anything.

The Rangers felt like the problems they had offensively in Game 5 could be corrected.

They did a good job blocking shots tonight but you know we have to do a better job especially with those power plays there in the second of putting more pucks towards the net said Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Said center Derek Stepan My only problem I had in tonight s game was offensively we worked so hard to get the puck back and we did a poor job of managing it. Making plays. Chipping pucks in he said Poor decisions with the puck on the power play.

Including when they shot it right into a Tampa defender.

The Lightning only had 22 blocked shots in total during their two home games in the series. But if Game 5 was any indication and going from 10 goals against in the previous two games to a Brian Bishop shut out means it should be the Bolts will be hitting the deck with frequency in Game 6 on Tuesday.

I m sure we ll look at some game tape correct the mistakes try to move forward and get a win said winger Marty St. Louis. You have to find a way to get a win in Tampa.

Considering Henrik Lundqvist s 13 4 record in elimination games there s no panic amongst the Rangers that they couldn t accomplish it.

I don t think we have much of a choice. It s a race to four said Stepan. It doesn t matter how many games the other team wins. You gotta beat em in four games.

David Letterman Calls Indy 500 Tribute the Highlight of My Career

David Letterman is already enjoying the perks of retirement just four days after wrapping Late Show cheering on his team at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday in Indiana.

The longtime racing fan was honored by his IndyCar team who paid tribute to the former Late Show host through caricature. A smiling gap toothed illustration of Letterman was added to driver Oriol Servia's No. 32 yellow car with Thanks Dave accompanying the Late Show logo according to The Hollywood Reporter. Team members also wore gray t shirts mimicking Letterman's famous Top Ten lists instead counting down the reasons they love the talk show host.

With everything that's happened it's the highlight of my career he said. It's crazy it's the Indianapolis 500. Regrettable my face but also my name on that car. It's just delightful.

Letterman ended his 33 year run as host of CBS's the Late Show on Wednesday with a star studded final episode even President Obama joined in on the fun.

Letterman who owns Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with former Indy 500 champion Bobby Rahal and businessman Mike Lanigan watched Sunday's race from the pit lane according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Serbia didn't finish the race crashing into a wall just past the midway point but other Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver Graham Rahal placed fifth.

He assured me he would be around the track a lot more Rahal said of Letterman. At this stage in his life he can enjoy himself a little bit and hopefully that means enjoying IndyCar racing.

Letterman 68 was born and raised in Indianapolis and has been around the racetrack for most of his life.

This is the best Letterman told sports website SB Nation. I grew up here. I used to hear the track from where I used to live. I'd stand in my yard and just listen. Everyone in the neighborhood used to listen to it. It was great fun.

John Nash the Nobel Prize winning mathematician whose life inspired the movie A Beautiful Mind and his wife Alicia were killed Saturday in a car crash in New Jersey NJ.com reports.

John Nash was 86 and his wife was 82.

John and Alicia Nash were riding in a taxi on the New Jersey Turnpike when the crash occurred according to NJ.com. The taxi s driver tried to pass another car and lost control crashing into a guard rail.

Police said they were both ejected from the car and didn t appear to be wearing seatbelts.

The taxi driver Tark Girgis of Elizabeth New Jersey had to be pulled from the wrecked car by firefighters and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

The crash happened at about 4 30 p.m. and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

A prosecutor told NJ.com that no charges are expected to be filed against the taxi driver.

John and Alicia Nash married in 1957. Alicia graduated from M.I.T. and had a degree in physics. Two years after they were married John Nash began to be overcome by his mental illness. He was hospitalized while Alicia was pregnant with their son John Charles Martin Nash.

She divorced him in 1963 but he remained living at her house as a boarder. As he gained control of his illness their relationship restarted and they re married in 2001.

According to the New York Times Nash s life was turned around by winning the Nobel Prize in 1994 and the movie in 2001.

It changed him from a homeless unknown person who was wandering around Princeton to a celebrity and financially it put him on a much better basis Harold Kuhn a friend of John Nash and a professor at Princeton told the Times.

5. He Has Been Called One of the Great Mathematicians of the 20th Century

According to the Times his theory of noncooperative games which was published in 1950 as the Nash equilibrium provides a mathematical tool for analyzing competitive situations such as corporate rivalries or legislative decision making and is now used in economics and social science as well as other fields like evolutionary biology.

Roger Myerson an economist at the University of Chicago compared the Nash equilibrium to that of the discovery of the DNA double helix in the biological sciences.

Most of Nash s best works were in a small number of papers published before he was 30 and prior to being overcome by mental illness though he continued to work into his late age.

Jane Austen wrote six novels Bach wrote six partitas Barry Mazur a professor of mathematics at Harvard told the Times. I think Nash s pure mathematical contributions are on that level. Very very few papers he wrote on different subjects but the ones that had impact had incredible impact.

Anne Meara Way more than Ben Stillers mom

(CNN)I wondered if Anne Meara joked about this with her son after he had his first big break Over 60 years in show business and I can just see my obituary 'Mother of Ben Stiller dies '

Meara who died Saturday in New York was hilarious classy and so very gifted. The comedy team of (Jerry) Stiller and Meara was in my life practically as long as my own parents. I worshiped them.

Here was this gorgeous Irish redhead taller than her Jewish husband performing hilarious skits she was Elizabeth Doyle and he was Hershey Horowitz in one of them on talk and variety shows like Ed Sullivan or Johnny Carson or Mike Douglas.

They were fearless angry and they killed. And without fail every single time they would pop up on TV my Jewish mother would wait until the perfect close up of Anne to blurt out Converted

Anne Meara had indeed converted when she met and married Jerry Stiller in the early 1950s. She was a young actress then and it would be some years before she teamed up with her husband for comedy. But much of her professional life's work was about her acting chops.

In fact the first time I truly fell in love with Anne Meara was in the movie Fame. It was 1980 I was a senior in high school and that movie with a bunch of talented kids my age full of angst uncertainty hopes and dreams affected me like no other. Anne's performance spoke to me the most.

MUST WATCH

It was the scene when her character Mrs. Sherwood is visiting her dying husband. Her student Leroy Johnson comes to the hospital to beg her to pass him. Meara's character awash in heartache grief and agony turns to him and says Don't you kids ever think of anyone but yourselves It broke my heart.

I met Anne for the first time when I was the warmup comic on a show in the late '80s that she was a guest on. I was in awe and when I finally got her ear I told her how much I loved her in Fame and how much I respected her acting. She deflected the praise and replied with compassion Oh yes. That poor boy he died of AIDS. ... What a talent he was.

A few years later I met her daughter Amy in Los Angeles and we bonded on a ride home from The Comedy Store. Whenever I saw Anne or Jerry afterwards and I would mention Amy their adoration for their daughter poured out of them. They were a true pair and their love for each other and their family was palpable. They actually stopped working together as a team to save their marriage and it obviously worked They had 61 magnificent years together.

Anne was a trailblazer for women comics. She more than held her own when she was performing with Jerry. She wasn't the ditzy girl who made the guy look funny. She was her own person always ready with a biting retort.

But she had range. She was a Shakespearean actress with a thick Brooklyn accent. She acted on stage in radio TV and film. She was a writer and a playwright. She was nominated for four Emmy Awards and a Tony Award and won a Writer's Guild Award for the telepic The Other Woman. She taught young performers up until the end. And she loved to laugh.

There were so many facets to Anne Meara. Her contribution to the world of entertainment is unparalleled. She exuded class and she valued all that is truly important. She did it all and then some.

Oh and she also happened to be Ben Stiller's mom.

Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James makes new memories as he recalls old ...

CLEVELAND Ohio Because of the physical size and speed of LeBron James and the way he developed so early so fast it is hard to appreciate properly the intangibles he possesses that can't be clocked weighed or captured in statistics.

James sees things ahead of time said coach David Blatt after the second of the Cavaliers' trilogy of victories over Atlanta in the Eastern Conference Finals meaning James' feel for where teammates will be.

But James also remembers things with a clarity that is pristine and a recall that can reach far back onto the past. It is not a photographic memory. That does not exist. It is as ESPN writer and former Plain Dealer colleague Brian Windhorst once wrote in an illuminating story an eidetic memory.

The point was James' ability to remember precise tactics in specific sets from years before and to suggest to his stunned coach in Miami Erik Spoelstra that they be used again.

Blatt after the second game against Atlanta also spoke of the very quick mental pictures James takes of the defense in real time.

The camera was snapping on a motorized drive Sunday night in the Cavs' frantic 114 111 overtime victory over Atlanta for a 3 0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.

James can remember precisely the details of the game's most chaotic moments its spasms of violent movement. It seemed to be a small moment in his ringing defense of teammate Matthew Dellavedova against growing charges that Dellavedova is a dirty player. It really was the core of James his loyalty and commitment out there for all to see.

Those charges have increased in volume after a diving Dellavedova knocked Atlanta sharpshooter Kyle Korver out for the postseason with an ankle injury in the second game.

I'm going to protect my guys James said. You're trying to do whatever it takes to win but you don't want to hurt anybody. Ever since you were a kid you fall on the floor and the first man to the floor usually gets the ball.

James added There's no difference between what Delly did to Kyle Korver and 18 guys diving on the floor late in the game (Sunday night). There were six or seven guys diving on the floor. Delly was on the floor JJ (James Jones) was on the floor (Atlanta's) Mike Scott was on the floor J.R. (Smith) was on the floor.

James called off the names as quickly as the players tumbled the energy in his voice at 1 o' clock in the morning capturing the desperation of the scramble. Players can get hurt in such moments of reckless abandon. It is the risk they take for wanting to win so much.

James won't probably admit this but the sense here was he never had much use for former Cav Wally Szczerbiak. Wally World not only did not make the shots he was hired to make but he also did not dive for the ball at the end of a three quarters' long court chase for it with Boston's Eddie House in the seventh game of the second round playoffs in 2008.

House went to the floor. Wally went to the bend and reach for it. Eventual NBA champion Boston got an extra possession and scored on it in a game that went to the wire when James' 45 points were in vain.

Warming to the topic of aggressive vs. dirty play James said of this series' second game (Atlanta's) Pero Antic gave me a two hand shove in the air. I didn't get hurt so nobody's talking about it.

It was a Flagrant Foul 1. The Hawks are collecting flagrant fouls. The Cavs are not.

Before the interview ended James did a very coach like thing. J.R. had a double double and nobody is talking about it said James. He gave us 17 (points) and 10 (rebounds.)

It was the point guard in him spreading around the credit just as he distributes the ball.

The physical part of James' game drained away after Shelvin Mack's potential game tying pair of 3 pointers barely missed in the final five seconds of overtime. Spent James dropped to his knees near the foul line.

That graphic physical moment merged with the mental part Blatt had been talking about.

Once bitter memories of a lackluster effort in the playoffs four years ago were James' legacy to many critics and fans.

Now it was the reverse a snapshot everyone took of a player who left everything he had on the floor and who went to it exhausted in victory.

Memorial Day 2015

Sailors in New York City for Fleet Week pause at the site of the National September 11 Memorial Museum May 22 2015. A parade of ships along the Hudson ushered in Fleet Week events on Wednesday the 27th annual Fleet Week celebration. A Memorial Day commemoration ceremony is to include the unfurling of a 100 foot American flag a wreath laying a rifle salute and the playing of taps.

Fantasy NASCAR Picks for FedEx 400 at Dover

This will be the week to take a chance with some drivers you may not have used much in Group B. Kurt Busch Martin Truex Jr. and Kasey Kahne have been popular picks this season but it would be wise to save these drivers for the races on the intermediate tracks.

My sleeper pick for Group B is Tony Stewart. He's off to the worst start of his career but if he is ever to turn his season around it should come at Dover. Stewart has three wins and 17 finishes in the top 10 at the track. If you are ever going to take a chance with Stewart this is a great week to do so.

Here are the four drivers I selected for Group B.

Clint Bowyer

Bowyer has not been very good this season but this would be a good week for the No. 15 team to get its season going. Bowyer has the fourth best average finishing position and the eighth best driver rating at Dover. He also has a streak of eight consecutive top 10 finishes going. It would be great if your fantasy team could sneak a top 10 finish out of Bowyer this week.

Kyle Larson

Larson is another driver I am willing to take a risk with this week. He's had an up and down season so far but his stats at Dover last season are too good to ignore. Larson qualified for both races in the top 10 and finished both races in the top 11. Most fantasy teams would be satisfied with the same results Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr.

I wanted to select at least one of the top drivers from Group B as an insurance policy this week. Truex is my selection. Last year Truex finished both races at Dover in the top seven. His Furniture Row Racing team was not nearly as good last year as it is in 2015 and I expect even better results from the No. 78 team this week.

Carl Edwards

Edwards will have momentum coming into the race at Dover after his win at Charlotte. Concrete Carl could get another top 10 finish this week at the Monster Mile. He has won races at Dover before and now he is teamed with some of the best drivers at the track (Kyle Busch and Kenseth). Edwards is a good pick for your team this week.

Other Good Choices Kurt Busch Kasey Kahne Paul Menard and Jamie McMurray

President Obama honored the nation's fallen Monday by pointing out that this is the first Memorial Day since the end of combat operations in Afghanistan and the first Memorial Day since 9/11 in which the United States is not involved in a major ground war.

Most Americans don't fully see don't fully understand the sacrifice made by the 1% who serve in this all volunteer armed forces Obama said during the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

He added A sacrifice that preserves the freedoms we too often take for granted.

Obama spotlighted the careers of the last two Americans to die in combat in Afghanistan Wyatt Martin and Ramon Morris and said the nation will never stop trying to repay the debt owed to these and thousands of others who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the United States. The Americans who rest in the sacred ground at Arlington cemetery are why our nation endures he said.

The cemetery the final resting place of heroes is also a reflection of America itself Obama said. It's a reflection of our history the wars we've waged for democracy the peace we've laid to preserve it.

Earlier in the ceremony as is custom Obama placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

There were once more than 100 000 troops in Afghanistan Obama said but that number is now below 10 000 servicemembers who train Afghan security forces. The president said that United States would continue to reduce that number and have no more than an embassy presence in Afghanistan by the end of next year.

On this day we honor the sacrifice of the thousands of American servicemembers men and women who gave their lives since 9/11 including more than 2 200 American patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan Obama said.

While combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq have ended Obama pointed out that thousands of men and women still stand watch across the world.

In his remarks Obama did not mention current challenges facing the U.S. military including its role in the regional battle against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Instead the president focused on the heroism of Americans who have fought the nation's wars from the Civil War and World War II to Korea and Vietnam to the recent conflicts in the deserts of the Middle East.

The nature of war has changed in the past century and a half but the values that drive the American military have not Obama said.

Honor ... courage ... selflessness he said. Those values lived in the hearts of everyday heroes who risked everything for us in every American war men and women who now rest forever in these quiet fields and across our land.

Supermodels Invade the Monaco Grand Prix

It was all going so well. Until it went very very bad. At least for Lewis Hamilton and his new coterie of supermodel besties.

Hamilton the best race car driver on the planet was in the coveted pole position Sunday at the start of the Monaco Grand Prix the world s twistiest riskiest road race where two drivers have crashed into the sea.

In brilliant sunshine under azure skies with the Prince s Palace at one end of the hilly principality and the world famous Casino and Hotel de Paris at the other bikini clad women enjoyed five course meals on gleaming $150 million white yachts while getting ready to watch the race the Monegasque equivalent of tailgate parties.

It was said one racing fan like Hollywood but with better architecture.

Hamilton the multiracial race Brit from a working class town north of London who s conquered this bastion of aristocratic white wealth had maybe the world s most beautiful cheerleaders in his corner.

Kendall Jenner Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid sailed into Monte Carlo from the Cannes Film Festival Friday to support Team Hamilton along with Delevingne's sister Poppy and models Hailey Baldwin and Shanina Shaik.

It was all about pit style jumpsuits. Delevingne wore a tailored black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline to the Tag Heuer party Saturday night and a shiny pink and black one on a visit to the actual pit lane with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jenner paired her trademark Klan aviator sunglasses with a low cut paisley jumpsuit Sunday before the race.

There's a lot going on Jenner posted on Instagram showing a picture of her Grand Prix VIP passes and maybe hinting that as an American there was a lot going on about a race she didn't really understand.

Photos of Hamilton's former longtime girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger supposedly downcast and depressed in Los Angeles popped up in the papers here while Hamilton surfaced at the amFar gala in Cannes last week with Hadid who seems to be his new girlfriend.

All eyes were on Hamilton the outsider whose rivalry with fellow Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg a German/Finn who was raised in Monaco and is part of racing royalty (his father was Grand Prix champ Keke Rosberg) is legendary.

Hamilton was raised Tiger Woods style by an ambitious hard driving father who worked up to three jobs to support Hamilton's career.

Hamilton and Rosberg born with much more of a silver spoon have known each other since they were kids at go kart competitions but the friendly rivalry has gone distinctly frosty in recent years with an incident at last year's Monaco Grand Prix. In fact Hamilton began the year complaining that the German Rosberg was favored by Mercedes. That changed when Hamilton became the Formula 1 world champ in 2014 and signed a $100 million contract with Mercedes ticking Rosberg off.

For his part the non official Mercedes team chairman gruff former F1 champ Niki Lauda calls them both egotistical bastards.

The egotistical bastards were in first and second place respectively as the race began ready to drive at average speeds of 142 mph on the winding hilly course around the iconic corners Casino Square Tabac La Rascasse Sainte Devote and the famous Mirabeau hairpin turn near what is now the Fairmont Hotel.

Jenner tweeted a photo of herself showing her backside as she watched the start of the race from a VIP bleacher box.

Monaco the shortest race on the Grand Prix circuit is notorious for being tough for one driver to overtake another. Meaning it was Hamilton's race to lose.

Then he did as a result of one of the most puzzling and embarrassing screw ups by Hamilton's own team in recent Grand Prix history. Or as full time Formula 1 correspondent Daniel Johnson put it in the Telegraph Blunder does not quite do justice to the scale of the error.

It all went down when a hotdogging 17 year old rookie Max Verstappen hit the back of Romain Grosjean's car at Lap 64 fairly close to the end of the race and crashed headlong into the barrier at Sainte Devote. Miraculously he emerged unhurt.

A safety car was brought into the race to slow speeds and Hamilton's team made the colossal error of bringing him in for a pit stop. When he returned to the race both Rosberg and driver Sebastian Vettel advanced ahead of him with just eight laps left.

I can't express how I feel right now so I won't attempt to Hamilton said after the race. But you live to fight another day.

Not coincidentally Hamilton was a no show at the spectacular F1 after party Sunday night at the Amber Lounge at the Le Meridien Beach Plaza hotel poolside near the seafront.

Rosberg and fourteen other F1 drivers along with Princess Caroline's son Pierre Casiraghi and musical artist Jason Derulo celebrated Rosberg's third straight Monaco Grand Prix at $22 000 Methuselah tables which included a 6 liter methuselah bottle of Veuve Cliquot.

We can't drink before the race so we make up for it now said one driver at Rosberg's table who was making up for lost time chugging from a bottle and dancing on the white couches at 5 a.m.

Some party organizers expected Jenner Delevigne and Hadid to show but there was no sign of them or Hamilton who lives nearby in the same apartment building as Rosberg. Two enormous VIP reserved tables went empty all night.

He'll be back there next year predicted one of the bartenders pointing at Table 41 where the drivers were holding court. He'll win next year for sure. He'll be out for blood in 2016.

French Open 2015 Schedule Replay TV Coverage Live Stream for Mondays ...

Day 1 of the 2015 French Open was interesting to say the least.

Most matches went along as anticipated as the tournament's top stars had little trouble advancing to the second round paving the way for a couple of controversial incidents surrounding Rodger Federer and Stan Wawrinka to steal the headlines.

Federer earned a decisive 6 3 6 3 6 4 victory over Alejandro Falla improving to 10 3 on clay this year. That result was expected but what happened next certainly wasn't. A young fan rushed the court following the match in an effort to get a picture with the Swiss star and Federer wasn't happy about the lack of security at Roland Garros.

Wawrinka was impressive Sunday defeating Marsel Ilhan 6 3 6 2 6 3 however he left with a sour taste in his mouth as well after an article speculating about his potential lack of concentration due to his personal life surfaced. Getting through a Grand Slam is already a mentally difficult task and that surely won't make things any easier for Wawrinka.

Now with those controversies in the rear view we can focus on Day 2 action from Roland Garros as more of tennis' top stars will be taking the courts throughout the day. With the early matches already underway here's a look at how to catch the remainder of the day's contests.

No. 3 Andy Murray vs. Facundo Arguello

Andy Murray is having a phenomenal year on clay earning victories over the likes of Milos Raonic Kei Nishikori and Rafael Nadal to notch a victory in Madrid as well as winning in Munich. Now 10 0 on the surface in 2015 he'll aim to continue that trend in Paris.

Interestingly enough the French Open is the only Grand Slam event in which Murray has never reached the final. However he's playing with enough confidence to buck that trend this time around. Here's what he had to say during an interview with Piers Newbery of BBC Sport

It's probably the best I have played on clay for sure. I never really felt particularly comfortable on the surface. Sometimes by the time I got to the French Open I started to feel good but obviously winning tournaments and beating good players helps with the confidence.

I just feel like I have an idea of what I'm doing on the court. Sometimes in the past I have not really known what was happening on the court and felt like I was struggling with my movement. This year it doesn't feel like that. I feel like I'm moving well. I feel a lot freer on the court my body feels good. That's positive.

Murray has never faced Facundo Arguello before and that can sometimes prove to be a tricky task for even the most seasoned of veterans. Knowing the tendencies of an opponent no matter his world ranking is a crucial element of success and the Brit will need to do his homework here.

Keeping his momentum going will be key for Murray on Day 2 of the French Open as potential matchups against John Isner David Ferrer and Novak Djokovic stand in his way of finally reaching the final. Getting off to a hot start against Arguello is a must.

No. 2 Maria Sharapova vs. Kaia Kanepi

Maria Sharapova has found her form once again. Earlier in the season the Russian was struggling and failed to advance past the round of 16 in three consecutive tournaments. She began to right the ship in Madrid defeating Caroline Wozniacki in the quarterfinals but falling to Svetlana Kuznetsova one round later. Then in Rome things really clicked.

Sharapova dominated the clay surface in Italy winning in consecutive sets four times before taking down Carla Suarez Navarro 4 6 7 5 6 1 to claim her second title of the year. That victory gave the No. 2 seed plenty of momentum heading into Roland Garros where she aims to successfully defend her title.

Following her win in Rome Sharapova had this to say about her impending trip to Paris during a press conference via Martyn Herman of Reuters.com I'm in an especially good spot physically. I'm prepared to go the distance now and to beat someone like Carla who loves long matches to come through that gave me a lot of confidence.

Maintaining that confidence during her early rounds will be necessary for Sharapova as she stands to potentially face Suarez Navarro again in the quarterfinals. From there her path will likely continue to increase in difficulty as Simona Halep and Serena Williams could be on the slate as well.

First things first for Sharapova She must not overlook her first round opponent. Kaia Kanepi has never defeated the world No. 2 holding an 0 4 record against Sharapova however Kanepi did take a set from the Russian in Australia in 2014 and these two haven't met on a clay surface since 2013.

NY Rangers frustrated by Tampas sudden shot blocking ways

For Lightning winger Brian Boyle who played on those Tortorella teams in New York blocked shots are the catalyst for offensive frustration.

And it kept the puck out in Game 5 to the Rangers chagrin.

They did a great job of defending blocking lanes and blocking shots and it made it really challenging for us said Rangers coach Alain Vigneault.

That included the Bolts penalty kill which shut down the Rangers attack after they entered the game having scored two power play goals in each of the last three contests.

When it comes to momentum the power play giveth and taketh away.

The Rangers felt like the problems they had offensively in Game 5 could be corrected.

Including when they shot it right into a Tampa defender.

I m sure we ll look at some game tape correct the mistakes try to move forward and get a win said winger Marty St. Louis. You have to find a way to get a win in Tampa.

Considering Henrik Lundqvist s 13 4 record in elimination games there s no panic amongst the Rangers that they couldn t accomplish it.

I don t think we have much of a choice. It s a race to four said Stepan. It doesn t matter how many games the other team wins. You gotta beat em in four games.

David Letterman Calls Indy 500 Tribute the Highlight of My Career

David Letterman is already enjoying the perks of retirement just four days after wrapping Late Show cheering on his team at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday in Indiana.

With everything that's happened it's the highlight of my career he said. It's crazy it's the Indianapolis 500. Regrettable my face but also my name on that car. It's just delightful.

Letterman ended his 33 year run as host of CBS's the Late Show on Wednesday with a star studded final episode even President Obama joined in on the fun.

Letterman who owns Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with former Indy 500 champion Bobby Rahal and businessman Mike Lanigan watched Sunday's race from the pit lane according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Serbia didn't finish the race crashing into a wall just past the midway point but other Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver Graham Rahal placed fifth.

He assured me he would be around the track a lot more Rahal said of Letterman. At this stage in his life he can enjoy himself a little bit and hopefully that means enjoying IndyCar racing.

Letterman 68 was born and raised in Indianapolis and has been around the racetrack for most of his life.

Meara who died Saturday in New York was hilarious classy and so very gifted. The comedy team of (Jerry) Stiller and Meara was in my life practically as long as my own parents. I worshiped them.

They were fearless angry and they killed. And without fail every single time they would pop up on TV my Jewish mother would wait until the perfect close up of Anne to blurt out Converted

You ve probably heard of using a Ouija board to contact spirits but I bet you haven t heard of using pencils to have your questions answered by supernatural beings The Pencil Game also called Charlie Charlie is a traditional Mexican ritual wherein players (usually children) are said to contact the spirit of a child named Charlie.

To play The Pencil Game you will need six pencils and a partner. Facing each other each person must hold three pencils and arrange them as three sides of a box with the open end facing the other person. It is best to use unsharpened pencils or to hold the tips so that the eraser ends are pointed toward your partner. The ends of your pencils will need to touch your partner s to form a complete rectangle.

To begin the game both players must chant Charlie Charlie can we play If the pencils move inward or up the answer is yes. If they move outward or down the answer is no. If one side goes one way and the other side goes a different way it means maybe or the question can t be answered at this time. You can then ask the spirit of Charlie yes or no questions and he will respond by moving the pencils. Charlie is kind of like the spirit world version of a Magic 8 ball. To end the game both players must chant Charlie Charlie can we stop After the pencils move both players drop all of the pencils on the floor to break contact with Charlie.

What happened LeBron James' three pointer with 36.4 seconds left in overtime put the Cavs ahead 112 111 and James altered Jeff Teague's driving layup with 30.9 seconds left. Then James' driving shot with 12.8 seconds put the Cavs up 114 111. Shelvin Mack missed two three pointers in the final 4.9 seconds as Cleveland outscored Atlanta 10 7 in overtime taking a 3 0 series lead.

Atlanta had a chance to win With the score tied 104 104 and 17.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter the Hawks had the ball. Jeff Teague dribbled at the top of the key with James defending. DeMarre Carroll set a screen that gave Teague a bit of room but Teague missed a three point attempt at the buzzer.

Big numbers for James after slow start James who played with a bum right knee missed his first 10 shots and was 3 for 16 from the field at halftime. Yet James finished with a triple double 37 points 18 rebounds and 13 assists.

James' triple double It was James 12th career playoff triple double and the first since the 2013 NBA Finals. He had been close several times in the 2015 playoffs either coming an assist or rebound shy in three previous playoff games. James is second on the all time playoff triple double list breaking a three way tie with Larry Bird and Jason Kidd. Magic Johnson leads with 30 career playoff triple doubles. It was also James' 54th career playoff game with at least 30 points five rebounds and five assists and his sixth of these playoffs.

Dellavedova Horford incident With 34.3 seconds with in the second quarter Al Horford and Matthew Dellavedova went for a loose ball. Dellavedova fell into Horford and Horford reacted throwing an elbow at Dellavedova. Referees called a flagrant two on Horford who has a sterling reputation resulting in an automatic ejection. Dellavedova was called for a technical foul. It was an unfortunate circumstance for the shorthanded Hawks because Horford was their best player in the first half scoring 14 points on 7 for 10 shooting.

Dellavedova a central character Dellavedova has been a vital player for Cleveland especially with Kyrie Irving limited because of injuries. He was involved in an incident that resulted in Taj Gibson's ejection in the Chicago series and was the player who fell on Kyle Korver's ankle in Game 2 resulting in a severe high ankle sprain and the end of Korver's season. Dellavedova certainly a guy who irritates opponents also scored a playoff career high 19 points against the Bulls in series clinching Game 6 and had 17 points Sunday in Game 3 against the Hawks.

What worked for the Cavaliers Cleveland had another strong game from three point range making 14 for 36 and Cleveland guards J.R. Smith Iman Shumpert and Dellavedova all scored in double figures with 17 15 and 17 points.

What worked for the Hawks Paul Millsap had his best of the series 22 points and nine rebounds after scoring 15 points total on 5 for 19 shooting in the previous two games. The Hawks also had their best three point shooting game making 11 for 30 (36.7%). Jeff Teague had 30 points seven assists and six rebounds. The Hawks used more of Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack and less of Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala in Game 3.

Cavs injury report Kyrie Irving (tendinitis left knee strained right foot) missed his second consecutive game and with the Cavaliers up 3 0 in the series the Cavs are in position to let him heal until it's necessary he play later in this series if Atlanta wins or game or two or the start of the NBA Finals.

Hawks injury report Kyle Korver missed the game with a severe high right ankle sprain and DeMarre Carroll who sprained his left knee in Game 1 had 10 points.

Up next Game 4 is Tuesday in Cleveland and the Cavaliers can sweep the series. No team has come back from a 3 0 deficit in NBA playoff history.

Lifetime Movie Kidnapped The Hannah Anderson Story

Last night Lifetime continued its recent kidnapping obsession and returned to its love of colons with Kidnapped The Hannah Anderson Story. It was based on the true 2013 kidnapping of a teenage girl by her family friend after he murdered her mother and brother. She was rescued from the Idaho wilderness when her kidnapper was shot and killed by the FBI.

Much of the movie is told in flashbacks to the kidnapping with the frame narrative being Hannah (Jessica Amlee) doing a TV interview to tell people what really happened and dispel rumors that she and her kidnapper Jim DiMaggio (Scott Patterson Luke Danes what are you doing ) were in a relationship and she was somehow involved in the murders. Despite Lifetime marketing the movie as if Hannah s possible involvement would be a huge mysterious focus of the story it s pretty much dispelled right from the get go. That s good news for Hannah herself who had no involvement in the movie and was unhappy with how it appeared to portray her. But it was bad news for any chance to movie had to be a captivating story.

I m not saying they should have made Hannah out to be a villain authorities insisted that she was an unwilling victim but marketing the movie that way and then not following through on it took away any mystery or suspense especially since we already knew from the opening of the movie how Hannah was rescued. So when we saw it again at the end of the movie it was the definition of anticlimactic.

All of this might not have even mattered had the events of the kidnapping been portrayed in a gripping manner. But good lord was it boring. I blame a lot of that on the performances. Jessica Amlee as Hannah acts more inconvenienced by the situation than scared even when Jim handcuffs her to a chair threatens to kill her family and then starts playing Russian Roulette. Most people would be terrified and frantic but the impression I got was mostly Ugh would you stop And Scott Patterson plays Jim as the biggest sad sack around. I don t know if that s what Jim DiMaggio was like in real life but it certainly doesn t make for a very compelling movie villain.

So how could this all be fixed while still respecting the real people involved and staying true to what really happened By not making the movie at all. If Hannah had no involvement or approval and it turned out to be a lackluster movie anyway just make a movie with an original story. Then you can make it as crazy as you want and it ll be a lot easier for me to make fun of.

Sebastian the inaugural winner of reality talent show Australian Idol placed fifth overall. However some Aussie fans claim their votes weren't counted because of an error with the system.

Saturday's second semi final had 1.07 million viewers at its peak Eurovision's biggest ever peak audience on SBS.

The traditional gauge of a program's success is its average audience not its peak or cumulative audience. Because Eurovision aired over multiple days at different times however these measures are useful. But in fairness the broadcast's average audience must also be assessed.

Eurovision's Saturday night metropolitan audience was 639 000 bigger than the Sunday night grand final repeat of 592 000 (up from 476 000 last year). Before that 263 000 bleary eyed fans watched the final contest live in the early hours.

Another 106 000 metropolitan viewers saw the second semi final repeat on SBS2 on Saturday while 500 000 tuned into the main channel for the first semi final on Friday evening.

Media analyst Steve Allen managing director of Fusion Strategy says it's a solid result but believes the numbers could have been better.

Given we Australia arranged to be in the finals with Guy Sebastian it seemed to us there would be much greater interest and a solid ratings boost he says.

This is a little disappointing given we know SBS can attract really strong audiences with the right programming.

Recently the broadcaster broke records and beat its commercial rivals with the documentary series Struggle Street.

According to Twitter more than 215 000 Australians saw Eurovision related tweets during SBS's broadcasts of the finals. Globally more than 6 million Eurovision tweets were sent.

Eurovision delivered SBS an unusually large slice of the Sunday metropolitan audience 12.1 per cent just behind the ABC channels' 13.6 per cent.

But the Seven network was the clear winner with 33.9 per cent followed by Nine on 21.6 per cent and Ten on 18.7 per cent.

Sunday's top program was the second instalment of Seven's Catching Milat based on Australian serial killer Ivan Milat. Last week it attracted 1.39 million viewers last night it grew its audience to 1.46 million.

Ten's MasterChef continues to dominate its rivals in the five major cities taking the fourth spot with 1.08 million viewers just ahead of Seven's House Rules with 1.07 million viewers.

Nine's Reno Rumble which features former contestants from House Rules and The Block took seventh position with 851 000 viewers.

LeBron James leads Cleveland Cavaliers to 114 111 OT win over Atlanta Hawks ...

CLEVELAND Ohio It wasn't the prettiest but it counts and that's all that matters.

LeBron James put together one of his most magnificent playoff performances missing his first 10 shots yet finishing with 37 points 18 rebounds and 13 assists including the final five Cleveland points in overtime as the Cavaliers completed an exhausting 114 111 victory Sunday to go up 3 0 on the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals at The Q.

Reserve Shelvin Mack missed two open threes in the final seconds for the Hawks who played without the injured Kyle Korver and the ejected Al Horford that could have tied it. Now Cleveland is one win away from going to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2007.

The Cavaliers had their largest lead of the game of 10 early in the fourth but the Hawks went on to outscore them 26 16 to finish the quarter. Jeff Teague who shone with 30 points missed a game winning three at the end of regulation to send the game to an extra five minutes.

James knocked down a corner three to put the Cavaliers up 112 111 with 36 seconds left in the extra session. It came off of an extra possession gathered by Tristan Thompson on the offensive glass. On the next possession James sliced his way to the basket for a layup over the arms of Paul Millsap to put his team up three and that's what it took to finish it.

Atlanta fought to the very end.

James got off to the worst start of his postseason career but still managed to pick up his 12th career postseason triple double. He was 0 for 9 in the first quarter the poorest opening quarter of his career. A lot of the clanks were from point blank range. After one of his missed layups he raised his hands out of frustration. His first field goal came at the 7 04 mark in the second quarter.

In the third he went for 15 points six rebounds and six assists to break out of his funk. It was also the quarter where he drove past Kent Bazemore and ended up throwing down a vicious one handed dunk on Bazemore and Mike Muscala.

Those easy misses at the basket were over at that point.

J.R. Smith chipped in 17 points and 10 boards off the bench and Iman Shumpert had 15 points. Cleveland pulled down a franchise record of 56 rebounds.

Kyrie Irving sat out his second consecutive game to rest a left knee that's battling tendinitis but his backup provided plenty of fireworks in the conventional and non conventional fashion.

Late in the second quarter Horford was hit with a Flagrant 2 an automatic ejection for dropping his elbow near the head of Matthew Dellavedova while both players were boxing out. The late Macho Man Randy Savage would have been proud of that flying elbow drop.

Dellavedova received a technical.

Horford's blow might have been a retaliatory act for Dellavedova rolling on the back of Kyle Korver's leg in Game 2 which ended the sharpshooters' season.

Dellavedova who scored 17 points has found himself in the middle of some skirmishes this postseason. In the semifinal round against the Chicago Bulls Taj Gibson was ejected for kicking him after one of the NBA's most replayed leglocks. The next day Dellavedova was assessed a technical which was really a fine.

Losing Horford was a huge blow for the Hawks. He was playing well leaving the game with 14 points on 7 of 10 from the floor. Before you knew it the players the Hawks had on the floor were unrecognizable to the casual fan.

DeMarre Carroll playing on one leg with no Korver and no Horford meant no victory.

Teague supplied 30 points six boards and seven assists to lead the Hawks. Millsap bounced back from miserable Game 1 and Game 2 performances with 22 points and nine rebounds.

Kevin Love sat behind the team's bench without a sling on his left shoulder a good sign of his recovery.

If the Cavaliers win Tuesday night they get an eight day layoff before The Finals begin on June 4.

The Golden State Warriors can clinch their spot in the Finals with a closeout win on the road against Houston on Monday night.
