Khloe Kardashian is a woman of many talents. She loves a good celebrity Twitter feud she once hosted a show where people sang and now she's a fitness buff. According to some Instagram photos she shared Khloe's been up in the gym working on her fitness.

Yes the fat one (her words) would like you to know that she's no longer overweight and unhealthy now she love fitness and likes her baby abs.

Looking back at pictures of myself I didn't realize at the time how unhealthy my lifestyle actually was. People love to call me the fat one but as weird as it sounds I still don't think I would consider myself fat back then. Definitely overweight and unhealthy yes. About two years ago I decided to turn to fitness as a form of therapy and as a stress reliever. I started slow and eventually I started working out 4 to 5 days a week. We all have to start somewhere and doing something is better than nothing at all. Start small so you don't get discouraged and give up. Remember it is all about consistency. There are no quick fixes if you want long term results. Working out is a huge part of my life now. I genuinely enjoy sweating out my frustrations and living a healthier life. My workouts are not all about vanity. They are about clarity for my mind and soul. We all have different journeys in life make sure your journey is for you and you alone. Remember in the end the turtle won the race. Slow and steady dedication and tenacity.

I'm not where I want to be and who knows if I ever will be. But I am healthier than ever and due to my consistent workouts I am slowly seeing results. My biggest takeaway Khloe's bathroom is really nice and it's about the same size as my whole apartment.

Daylight Savings Time 2015 When is It and Why are Lawmakers Trying to Lose It

Twice a year we either wake up an hour earlier or an hour later than expected. Don't get caught off guard this time when Daylight Savings Time begins on March 8.

When local standard time hits 2 a.m. on Sunday clocks will turn forward one hour in the long held tradition signaling spring has arrived. Aside from Hawaii Arizona and all island United States territories most of the country springs forward as an energy saving measure that dates back to 1966 when the Uniform Time Act was implemented.

While parties like the California Energy Commission contend small amounts of saved energy add up to big savings U.S. lawmakers aren't convinced DST benefits outweigh the costs.

Rep. Elizabeth Scott (R WA) recently told a House committee that biannual time switches are lead to health problems and accidents due to a lack of sleep. Last week Idaho House Majority Leader Mike Moyle (R ID) introduced a bill that would eliminated the state's observance of DST because it is a disruption to families businesses and individuals.

Sen. Cliff Pirtle's (R NM) proposal has DST in effect year round. The state's Senate Public Affairs Committee voted 5 1 last Thursday to advance Pirtle's bill.

DST was first embraced during World War I when extended daylight helped conserve coal. It was continuously praised throughout the decades as a cost saving measure though Tufts University lecturer Michael Downing refutes the claim saying it's a commercialized measure that's good for retail and bad for energy.

This standardized time change was no favor to farmers who now had an hour less of morning light to milk their cows and get their goods ready for maker let alone for commuters or children waiting for school buses in the dark Downing said.

Some people complain about losing sleep while others will be grateful for the extra daylight. Eight months later they will bask in the extra slumber and be more cautious drivers when the sun sets an hour earlier. In some ways it balances out but not because small amounts of energy are being saved.

Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano Match decided in just 14 seconds

LOS ANGELES Ronda Rousey stopped Cat Zingano with an acrobatic armbar 14 seconds into the first round dramatically defending her bantamweight title at UFC 184 on Saturday night.

Rousey (11 0) earned the most impressive victory of her career with jaw dropping speed taking out the previously unbeaten Zingano with her signature armlock from an unlikely position.

Rousey landed on her head after Zingano (9 1) charged her at the opening bell but the champion gracefully flipped Zingano onto her back got up and maneuvered swiftly into position to wrench Zingano's arm grotesquely. Rousey forced the challenger to tap out ending her fifth title defense.

Rousey's last three fights have lasted a total of 96 seconds including two bouts against previously unbeaten opponents.

The sellout Staples Center crowd could scarcely process what it had just witnessed but Rousey thought it all went to plan.

We were expecting that she might come out and do something flying at me right away Rousey said. That's not usually how you land an armbar at that angle but it works. ... It was a lot like judo transitions where you scramble the second you hit the ground.

Champion boxer Holly Holm made her much hyped UFC debut with a split decision victory over Raquel Pennington in UFC 184's penultimate bout. Jake Ellenberger also earned a second round submission of Josh Koscheck as the world's dominant mixed martial arts promotion ended a two year absence from Southern California the home base of Rousey and numerous fighters.

But the sellout crowd got what it wanted from Rousey the Olympic medal winning judoka who has become one of the UFC's most prominent fighters just two years after the promotion added women's bouts. Zingano was considered the most daunting active threat to Rousey's reign but proved to be no match for the champion.

Immediately after the fight Zingano was as stunned as the fans.

I want to do it again Zingano said. I just ... (The armbar) was in but it wasn't in. She did it. She won. She did good.

For the first time in UFC history two women's fights headlined a pay per view event. Middleweight champion Chris Weidman originally was slated to fight Vitor Belfort on the Los Angeles card but when Weidman's injury forced a postponement the UFC promoted Rousey and Zingano to the main event without adding a major men's bout.

Although partly created by necessity that spotlight is the latest affirmation of Rousey and women's MMA. Just two years after Rousey's debut the UFC has two busy women's weight classes featuring more than 50 fighters and Rousey is a movie star a model and a celebrity who can sell out a large arena in her hometown.

Zingano earned this title shot two years ago with an upset victory over Miesha Tate but personal upheaval delayed it. After a serious knee injury knocked her out of the matchup and a high profile coaching spot opposite Rousey on the UFC's long running reality television show Zingano was rocked last year by her estranged husband's suicide.

The 33 year old Holm (8 0) ended an 11 year pro boxing career in 2013 to concentrate on MMA. The Albuquerque native and former kickboxer went unbeaten through minor promotions before joining the UFC last year.

Holm did enough to win her UFC debut but didn't blow away the scrappy undersized Pennington (5 6). Both fighters landed big shots during a standup fight and while Holm finished with a bloody nose she left Pennington with a swollen left eye.

Holm won the fight 30 27 and 29 28 on two cards and Pennington won 29 28 on the third.

Holm could be the next contender in line for Rousey's belt later this year and Rousey has said Holm's boxing credentials outweigh her lack of MMA experience. But UFC President Dana White has suggested veteran Jessica Eye will get the next title shot and Eye demanded her turn in interviews before Saturday's show.

Southern California fighters Tony Ferguson and Alan Jouban kicked off the pay per view card with dynamic first round stoppage victories. Ferguson has won five straight bouts while Jouban bounced back from a debatable loss with an impressive striking performance.

Although Los Angeles is the largest U.S. city that allows MMA competition the UFC hadn't staged a card in the area since Rousey's debut with the promotion in Anaheim in February 2013. A mediocre card scheduled for Staples Center last summer was canceled when champion Jose Aldo was injured.

On Friday Ronda Rousey tweeted that she had never been more ready in her life for her UFC 184 championship fight against Cat Zingano and on Saturday night the world learned just what that meant.

Zingano came out charging and Rousey floored her with an armbar winning the bantamweight fight in 14 seconds in the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It was tied according to UFC for the fastest submission in UFC history and was the fastest win in a UFC title fight.

It was a stunningly quick finish even for a fighter of Rousey s unquestioned ability and it came against Zingano one of the few fighters believed to have a chance at ending her undefeated streak. But Rousey (11 0 in Mixed Martial Arts 5 0 in UFC) extended her dominance of 2014 when she needed 1 minute 22 seconds in two fights combined to defend her belt.

You get the idea. It was a breath taking finish. And now what does Rousey do Well next up is a movie role according to the UFC s Dana White (via Fox Sports) then her next fight will be scheduled. Rousey though told the Washington Post s Rick Maese that she understands fighting is most important for now.

I always prioritize fighting first Rousey said. Everything comes from fighting. The only reason Hollywood is interested in me at all is because I fight and I win. So I have to protect that.

Remembering Leonard Nimoys Mr. Spock One of Historys Greatest TV ...

Leonard Nimoy who died today at 83 had a long prodigious career as an actor writer and director. Despite all his other achievements he will always be known as Mr. Spock the half human half Vulcan first officer of Star Trek s Enterprise and that s what I want to focus on here because the pointy eared Starfleet officer was one of the great characters in TV history. He was killed off and then resuscitated not just officially (in the second and third Star Trek films then in J.J. Abrams reboots where he appears as young Spock s grizzled future self) but symbolically in the form of new Trek characters who at times seemed like prismatic shards of Spock and who all grappled with feelings of otherness (Geordi La Forge Worf Data Seven of Nine).

Russell Westbrook undergoes a procedure to repair a cheek fracture

After a frightening incident on Friday night that left Russell Westbrook with a literal crater in his right cheek Westbrook s immediate future with his team seemed in question. Players break noses or damage parts of their faces all the time in this contact sport but few of these injuries looked as disturbing as Russell s.

After some damage control however it appears as if the long term implications of Westbrook s Friday collision may not be all that lasting. From a Thunder press release

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook underwent a successful procedure today to address a fracture to the zygomatic arch of his right cheek Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced.

The procedure was performed by Dr. John Joseph Rehm and Dr. Jason Hamilton with Thunder medical personnel present at the Osborne Head and Neck Institute in Los Angeles Calif. Westbrook will miss tomorrow s game against the Los Angeles Lakers and will be re evaluated later this week.

As the statement points out Westbrook will miss a contest against the lowly Lakers on Sunday and the next Thunder game following that will come at home against the tanking Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. The team s next real challenge will take place the following night when OKC travels to Chicago to grapple with a similarly injury plagued Bulls team.

The later this week evaluation falls right in line with how the Thunder are handling Kevin Durant s day to day situation. Durant had yet another operation to address pain in his right foot earlier in February the result of a frightening foot fracture last fall that forced team doctors to place a screw inside of his MVP wheel.

If Westbrook and Durant sit out against Los Angeles and Philadelphia two teams with the second worst records in their respective conferences then the two stars would enter Thursday having missed 16 (Westbrook) and 34 (Durant) of their team s 61 games by that point.

The Thunder have mostly circled the wagons this year considering. The team had won nine of ten in February before falling in a tough road overtime loss to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night and a borderline cruel Friday evening matchup with Portland that saw the Thunder go down by just four points. Westbrook has been brilliant throughout putting up MVP level stats all season despite playing just 33 minutes a game but the Thunder still rank eighth in the Western Conference currently.

The team isn t exactly clinging to the final postseason seed however with the similarly knackered New Orleans Pelicans working without Anthony Davis Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday stuck a game in back of OKC and those same Suns still 1.5 games back despite the win on Friday night. Even without Durant (who is scheduled to be re evaluated soon and could possibly come back by Wednesday) and Westbrook out against the Lakers and Sixers those two contests should be an easy enough win for Oklahoma City provided they play to their strengths unleashing new guard D.J. Augustin while working endless pick and rolls.

We don t doubt Westbrook s willingness to return

What one does have to wonder about however is his ability to play through what can be an annoying and often distracting protective mask. Some players like the recently retired Richard Hamilton or the heel for all ages Bill Laimbeer took to it. Others found it frustrating and invasive. Westbrook is a gamer and his heart is in the right place but that might not mean much if his routine is thrown off kilter.

The Thunder have endured terrible luck this season with injuries but they ve also put themselves in a place to succeed either through the knockout trade deadline moves of general manager Sam Presti or Durant and (especially) Westbrook s MVP level play during the contests they ve been allowed to participate in. Grabbing that eighth spot is no guarantee at this point but the Thunder should be the overwhelming favorite and they should seek to rest Durant s ailing foot and go cautious in the wake of Westbrook s surgery.

It s always about April possibly May and conceivably June with this crew. Just cross your fingers that both Westbrook and Durant can make it to spring without any other setbacks.

Melanie Griffith And Don Johnson Reunite For Dakota Johnsons SNL Monologue

Dakota Johnson's stint as host on Saturday Night Live this week was the occasion for a little family reunion.

During her opening monologue Johnson revealed that her father Don Johnson proposed (for the second time) to her mother Melanie Griffith after Griffith hosted SNL in 1988. Dakota who was born nine months later joked that she must have been conceived that night after the show or maybe even during the show.

But just to be sure the Fifty Shades of Grey star had the opportunity to confirm with her parents who were sitting in the audience. The former couple who separated for the final time in 1994 haven't made a public appearance together in years but reunited in New York to watch their daughter host.

Griffith and Johnson who had been averting their eyes conceded that the timeline was about right. When asked what was wrong Johnson admitted We were just afraid you were going to be naked.

Griffith has avoided seeing her daughter's film telling her in an uncomfortable interview on the Oscars red carpet last Sunday that it would be strange to see it.

Hundreds of flights canceled over Dallas winter weather

DALLAS Freezing rain that coated parts of Texas and Oklahoma for the second consecutive day left highways slick and forced the cancellation of another 1 000 flights Saturday at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport one of the nation's biggest airline hubs.

The Saturday chaos was on top of about 600 flights nixed Friday forcing about 5 000 travelers to spend the night at the airport spokesman David Magana said. The airport provided cots blankets and toiletries to the passengers plus kept concession stands open overnight Magana said.

One American Airlines flight from Dallas Fort Worth to Oklahoma City that typically takes less than an hour ended up being a nine hour journey for some passengers the airline said.

We apologize for the frustrating experience American spokesman Matt Miller said. The period of time that the jet was delayed on the tarmac waiting did not exceed three hours he said.

The flight with 110 passengers and five crewmembers pushed away from the gate around 1 45 p.m. Friday but returned to the terminal amid de icing delays Miller said. Passengers were allowed to exit remaining in the gate area while crews also dealt with an air conditioning issue on board.

Some passengers opted to stay on the jet Miller said. Another flight crew also had to be assigned to the flight because of the length of the delay and federal regulations on how long crews can be on duty he said.

The flight took off at around 10 45 p.m. Miller said.

Transportation officials and the National Weather Service warned travelers to stay off the roads Saturday until temperatures rise and the ice melts. The weather service issued a winter weather advisory for the Dallas Fort Worth area until Saturday night.

Freezing rain coated an area stretching from about 40 miles north of Austin up to the Dallas area said Anthony Bain a weather service forecaster based in Fort Worth.

If you don't need to travel just stay home Bain said. Temperatures were expected above freezing by late Saturday afternoon and into the upper 40s on Sunday Bain said.

Flight tracker Flightaware.com showed 974 flights canceled by late Saturday morning at the Dallas Fort Worth airport.

American Airlines which uses Dallas Fort Worth airport as its main hub had canceled 600 flights system wide on Saturday after canceling 700 on Friday said Miller.

Russell Westbrook undergoes facial surgery out at least one game

PORTLAND Ore. Russell Westbrook left the Moda Center Friday with another triple double while facing questions about his health after taking an inadvertent knee to the face from teammate Andre Roberson during Oklahoma City's 115 112 loss to Portland. The Oklahoman's Darnell Mayberry reported that Westbrook underwent surgery to fix his zygomatic arch bone and will miss the Thunder's Sunday game against the Lakers.

Another sensational night from Westbrook ended with the All Star point guard doubled over in pain on the court after a fluke blow to the face stunned him. With 2.5 seconds left in regulation Westbrook made a free throw to cut Portland's lead to 113 112. Westbrook slipped to the court as he gave chase for a rebound and found himself in the wrong place as Roberson attempted to commit a foul to stop the clock on the ensuing inbounds play.

Roberson's right knee struck the right side of Westbrook's face and Westbrook held his face in pain for an extended period of time after the blow.

Pictures of the injury appeared to show an indentation on the right side of Westbrook's face.

Dont know Thunder coach Scott Brooks said afterward when asked about Westbrook's health. We'll find out more later.

A Thunder spokesman said Westbrook would be further evaluated and that he would not be made available to the media. Westbrook walked past reporters on his way to the team bus but did not engage in any conversation. An official update is expected on Saturday.

Oklahoma City is currently without All Star forward Kevin Durant who is out indefinitely after a second procedure on his right foot earlier this week. Westbrook missed roughly one month earlier this season with a fracture in his right hand but he returned to make his fourth All Star Game appearance and has worked his way into the MVP conversation.

Westbrook finished with a game high 40 points 13 rebounds and 11 assists marking his third consecutive triple double. Mitch McGary added a career high 20 points and nine rebounds.

LaMarcus Aldridge paced the Blazers with 29 points 16 rebounds and five assists. Damian Lillard added 29 points and five assists.

Portland improved to 38 19. Oklahoma City fell to 32 27.
