Braves fans...today is the day. The season opens with the Braves vs. Phillies at 7 10 p.m.
Experienced game goers know the score on how to survive opening day.
The fun starts with a concert featuring country music star Rodney Atkins in Fan Plaza at 5 20 p.m. Atkins will also sing the National Anthem. Get in your seats by 6 20 p.m. for the pregame ceremonies including an introduction to the 2013 Atlanta Braves a special performance by the Georgia Southern University Southern Pride Marching Band and a flyover across Turner Field by four T6s of the historic Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.
Former third baseman Chipper Jones will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and Dale Murphy will be the game s Honorary Team Captain. Atlanta Opera singer and Turner Field favorite Timothy Miller will perform God Bless America and the reigning 2013 Miss America Mallory Hagan will lead the fans in singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the seventh inning stretch.
Here are a few things for bargain hunting Braves fans to note
Cheap Tickets Ticket windows are open now until the end of the 6th inning if you want to purchase standing room only tickets for $21 (or pick up pre purchased tickets). You can also get $1 skyline tickets 2.5 hours before game time at the ticket box office.
Free Tomahawk. Need a Tomahawk Be one of the first 45 000 fans through Turner Field s gates and take home a Braves foam tomahawk. Gates open 2.5 hours before the first pitch. The parking lot opens at 2 00 p.m. (Note Braves lots are Permit only. If you don't pre purchase parking take Marta.)
