Baylor star Brittney Griner took to Twitter on Sunday night following the Lady Bears' shocking 82 81 loss to Louisville in the NCAA women's basketball tournament's round of 16.
She wasn't there to vent her frustrations about a Cardinals defense that prevented her from making a basket until 15 20 remaining in the second half.
She simply wanted to apologize
I want to say I'm sorry to the Baylor Nation for letting everyone down and everyone else that look up to me I was a disappointed tonight
Brittney Griner ( Brittney4Griner) April 1 2013It was certainly a disappointing finish for the defending champion Lady Bears who had won 32 straight games and 74 of 75 behind Griner.
And it definitely was an uncharacteristically lackluster night for the 6 foot 8 standout who had averaged 35 points in the first two games of the tournament is the second highest scoring player in NCAA history and also holds the career records for blocks (748) and dunks (18).
Griner was held to 14 points 10 rebounds and two blocked shots against Louisville. She also fouled Louisville's Monique Reid with 2.6 seconds left and Baylor clinging to a one point lead. Reid made both shots to win the game for the Cardinals and end Griner's storied college career a bit earlier than expected.
Just days earlier Griner tweeted at halftime during Baylor's blowout win against Florida State
Need two more dunks on home court for the best crowd ever BaylorNation

First day of not being a collegiate athlete sucksCity but hey God has a plan for all of us and we will learn it as the days go by
