The Saturday chaos was on top of about 600 flights nixed Friday forcing about 5 000 travelers to spend the night at the airport spokesman David Magana said. The airport provided cots blankets and toiletries to the passengers plus kept concession stands open overnight Magana said.
One American Airlines flight from Dallas Fort Worth to Oklahoma City that typically takes less than an hour ended up being a nine hour journey for some passengers the airline said.
We apologize for the frustrating experience American spokesman Matt Miller said. The period of time that the jet was delayed on the tarmac waiting did not exceed three hours he said.
The flight with 110 passengers and five crewmembers pushed away from the gate around 1 45 p.m. Friday but returned to the terminal amid de icing delays Miller said. Passengers were allowed to exit remaining in the gate area while crews also dealt with an air conditioning issue on board.
Some passengers opted to stay on the jet Miller said. Another flight crew also had to be assigned to the flight because of the length of the delay and federal regulations on how long crews can be on duty he said.
The flight took off at around 10 45 p.m. Miller said.
Transportation officials and the National Weather Service warned travelers to stay off the roads Saturday until temperatures rise and the ice melts. The weather service issued a winter weather advisory for the Dallas Fort Worth area until Saturday night.

Share this comment atPORTLAND Ore. Russell Westbrook left the Moda Center Friday with another triple double while facing questions about his health after taking an inadvertent knee to the face from teammate Andre Roberson during Oklahoma City's 115 112 loss to Portland. The Oklahoman's Darnell Mayberry reported that Westbrook underwent surgery to fix his zygomatic arch bone and will miss the Thunder's Sunday game against the Lakers.
Another sensational night from Westbrook ended with the All Star point guard doubled over in pain on the court after a fluke blow to the face stunned him. With 2.5 seconds left in regulation Westbrook made a free throw to cut Portland's lead to 113 112. Westbrook slipped to the court as he gave chase for a rebound and found himself in the wrong place as Roberson attempted to commit a foul to stop the clock on the ensuing inbounds play.
Roberson's right knee struck the right side of Westbrook's face and Westbrook held his face in pain for an extended period of time after the blow.
Pictures of the injury appeared to show an indentation on the right side of Westbrook's face.

Weber That s another thing that s very interesting. Why is Frank so good at killing people You watch him do that it does not seem like that is the first time he s done that far from it so that s another thing we ll be looking into in the future.
Does Annalise truly believe that Sam killed Lila or is she just telling herself that to make things feel better
Davis I think that she has her doubts. I think that she probably was sure before but now has her doubts and I think that she is forcing herself to believe that is true and she is then employing Wes to believe that is true too because the other is just too powerful. It would just be too much. I think that even revealed in the room when Wes said Sam may not have killed Lila I think that s too much for her to bear. So I do think she has her doubts.
Why does Annalise have such a strong connection to Wes That scene on the stairs was very emotional. Is there something we don t know
Davis There may be something that you don t know we ll see what the writers reveal. Right now I m just going on the assumption that when she was introduced to Wes he was put on the waitlist he was coming from a completely different background than everyone else and I think that there is a feeling with Annalise that he reminds her of her. It s an emotional connection it s a maternal connection and I don t think that Annalise has that often in life so when it does happen I think it s very powerful. I think it s just as simple as that. She recognizes herself in him.
Have you heard of the fan theories that she could be his birth mom
Davis Yeah I ve heard of all of that We have not discussed that at all but once again stranger things have happened.
Let s get to Rebecca My first thought was that you killed her and Annalise ordered you to do so. Am I completely off base
Weber That is a theory that holds a lot of water from what we saw last night. Even though we re seeing two people alone in a cellar with a dead body saying I didn t do it these are two people that are very capable of just lying to each other and themselves. That s one of many theories that would make sense.
You both say that you didn t kill her. Should we believe you
Davis I don t know how much you should believe on this show. I really don t I don t think that anyone is really straightforward so I ll leave it at that. I always feel like my hands are clean but then I was very confused when I was in the house when Wes comes back to take the trophy after he kills Sam.
I know it s not written yet or at least you don t know what really happened to Rebecca. What s your personal theory
Weber I have no idea What s so interesting is if you go back and watch that last hour again each one of us had an opportunity to do it. It could have been Annalise it could have been me. When everyone went upstairs Annalise had time alone with her before she said she was gone knowing fully well she was gone. Wes had his time. Anyone could have snuck off and done that at some point in time throughout that day.
Davis I do not know who killed Rebecca and I m very curious myself. I thought about it because I thought it s got to be someone in this room it was a very contained situation. Everyone s always pointing their finger at Bonnie. And then I went from Bonnie to Laurel. She s just too pulled together so what s the deal with Laurel I ve gone back and forth.
How will Rebecca s death be played out next season
Weber Obviously Annalise and I know and if one of us is not the killer the killer s out. And then there s a lot of other things who did she text We don t even know who that is yet and how they play into this. So clearly there are people that are in the know and people that are not so it will be a situation where we either bring more people in the fold to deal with it or try to handle it without people finding out.
Davis I don t know how Rebecca is going to be played out. I really don t because I haven t figured out the necessity of her death yet or how much she knows. I know that she is kind of risky in terms of she was unpredictable. You never knew if she was going to blow a fuse. At one point she called 911. She s not necessarily loyal she s not trustworthy. So I actually am very confused as to how that will play out.
Does anyone know what Eggs 911 means
Weber No That s something we re going to have to address and how that all plays into this.
Davis I do not. I do not know who she was texting. When Rebecca s character was introduced at the very beginning I thought she was straightforward. I didn t know that she had as many secrets as she did. I don t know who she possibly could have been texting.
How will Rebecca s death shake up the Keating Five
Weber It s hard to say who knows and who doesn t know because you don t know who did it but if one of the Keating Five did it clearly they would know. The difference between the Keating Five and Frank is that Frank has sort of made a deal with a devil a long time ago and that s why he s so comfortable doing these illegal things where they re just embarking on this life or murder and mayhem and having to deal with it on an emotional level that he dealt with a long time ago. So if one of them killed Rebecca they d probably be having a much harder time that Frank did.
Is Katie Findlay gone for good or will we see her in flashbacks
Davis I believe she is going to be coming back in flashbacks so that those questions are answered. So even though she is dead Katie Findlay is not done in the mystery.
Will we get more backstory into Frank and Bonnie because we really don t know anything about their past.
Weber For me my hope is that we re looking to make that a focal point because people are so curious about this horribly dysfunctional family of Annalise as this mother figure to both Frank and Bonnie and we keep carrying out these deeds on her behalf and I think we all need to know why.
Will Frank killing Lila impact his relationship with Laurel
Weber It depends if she finds out and if she does what will she think of that We saw Laurel go through a tremendous change throughout the course of the season. She s a very different girl than the one we met. She was wanting me to kill Rebecca. She wanted me take care of that and so it will be interesting to find out how she reacts to the news that Frank does in fact kill people.
Where do Nate and Annalise stand
Davis I don t know where Annalise and Nate stand I really want her to be nicer to him but that s me. I take it that it s understandable why she wouldn t be I think that people that have been abused are probably the cruelest to the people who are the nicest to them but I hope that they find their way back to each other to forgiveness. I think that journey would be interesting.
Even though Annalise threw Nate under the bus big time did she always have good intent for him
Davis She did. I think she chose the lesser of two evils. I think it came down to a Sophie s Choice kind of situation and it cost her something. I think that she needed to protect the children.
Whose phone number was on the piece of paper that Annalise handed to Nate
Davis I m so glad that you asked that question because that is my biggest question. Obviously the phone number is of someone who can dig him out of a hole. I assume it s an attorney I assume it s someone of my choice and my doing. That person has not been revealed to me so that s the big question because I m thinking who can possibly get him out of there And who is it who has that kind of allegiance to me But I think that there is a plan to get him off fairly easily and get focus off of the kids I say kids because I feel like they re my kids.
Death is so final. Permanent everlasting unavoidable black silence is a space that everyone eventually must enter no matter how hard we fight to hang on. But what if there were a way to prolong life a new way for science to put off God s plan immortality bought and sold to the highest bidder. What if we could bring someone back from the big sleep to the land of the living According to the bible Jesus resurrected Lazarus a full four days after he died. A cold stiff body entered that tomb but a breathing blinking fully functional man walked out on his own two feet. Some call it the first zombie some call it a miracle and some people like scientists/power couple Frank and Zoe call it a possibility. The two have been perfecting their serum the Lazarus 5 which they administer along with electrical shocks to hopefully bring life back to the quiet corpses that fill the morgue at their hospital. Right now they re working with canines but they hope that with enough research and successful experiments they ll be able to perform the same operation on human beings. Little do they know they re about to get their wish.
The moment that Zoe Frank Niko and the rest of their team achieve their goal should be a happy one but unfortunately their celebration is short lived when their boss announces that all of their research has been confiscated due to a lack of results and an ever growing budget gone to waste in her opinion. No matter how much Frank and Zoe try to argue that they ve finally done it they ve brought a dead dog back to life she refuses to listen. Before they even return to their headquarters all of the hard work that they ve put in the past few years is gone. Not one to back down Frank argues that they ll simply have to complete the procedure again and film it just like they did before. He reveals a hidden batch of bags filled with the Lazarus serum and together he and the group gather to prove their theory once and for all. Everything s going according to plan until a freak accident leaves Zoe stone cold on the ground. She s been electrocuted. and as she lies there lifeless Frank makes a bold decision. To everyone s horror he says that he ll simply move the dog and put his wife on the table in its place and resurrect her just as he did the animal before her. Don t worry that the serum that s supposed to dissipate once it hits the dog s brain has hung around for days the milky white substance floating around like old dairy inside his skull. Never mind the fact that the group has yet to even try to perform this experiment on humans. He wants his wife back and in his grief he doesn t care that what he brings back might not be Zoe at all. In fact what he brings back might just bring hell with it.
The premise of The Lazarus Effect is a very brave and intriguing one. The idea that a person could be brought back to life though electric shocks and serum is smart and could actually fit into the real world. Scientists have already shown that electric shocks can jolt animation into a lifeless corpse as proven with frogs so adding serum to the equation could possibly bring life back to a cadaver. Not only is this experiment well thought out and logical but the film proposes a lot of interesting questions like what happens when we die Where do we go when we die Why does DMT shoot through our systems right before we die Should we extend life or even re animate a corpse with scientific advances if we have the opportunity And of course it brings up the ancient yet ever looming debate of religion vs. science. The only problem is the film fails to ever really answer or even explore these questions in depth. Once Zoe is re animated. the story switches over from a science fiction thriller to a straight possession tale and it s more than a little disappointing since the first half held so much promise.
Despite the letdown and strange shift halfway through The Lazarus Effect manages to hold interest in the story thanks to crisp cool shots from director David Gelb and strong performances from cast members Olivia Wilde Mark Duplass Danny Glover and Evan Peters. Wilde pulls off a frightening persona but I wish that if the filmmakers had decided to go in a paranormal Carrie like direction they would have brought out the big guns and really let her tear the place apart. There are some undoubtedly creepy moments like when Zoe begins reading people s minds and reciting their dialogue right along with them but at times it feels like they re holding back on the violence to obtain that PG 13 rating. I would have liked to see her really play with her powers and show just how strong her telepathy truly is since they were already headed in in more of the direction of a bloody supernatural slasher anyway. I m also surprised that they didn t take the opportunity to tie in the actual scripture of Lazarus a bit more since they went as far as to name the movie after the bible verse. For instance the serum is referred to as Lazarus 5 but if they had called it Lazarus 11 instead it could have provided a simple allusion to John 11 which is the text that tells the story of Lazarus. Also since Zoe the Catholic girl at heart and her husband Frank logic based atheist disagree on the purpose of DMT distributing though out the body immediately before death why not have re animated Zoe spout a few lines of scripture from the original text It would have made her seem all the more ravenous and terrifying. Here s just a sample I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. (John 11 25). Of course these are just examples but it s worth wondering why the writers didn t bother to take advantage of an easy way to make the film more memorable.
The Lazarus Effect starts out logical with much depth but ends on a much shallower note. Despite the fact that it fails to reach deeper levels it makes for a pretty fun ride along the way. This is definitely a film that s worth talking about as it proposes many interesting questions and topics of debate even if it doesn t provide the most sound arguments for those debates. It s unnerving well shot and with the dark fantastical Polanski esque dream sequences it provides some invigoratingly beautiful aesthetics. The Lazarus Effect is worth seeing but just know that you re in for more of a supernatural scare fest than an analytical look at what waits for us after death.
Two quick footed llamas dashed in and out of traffic in a Phoenix area retirement enclave before they were captured by authorities Thursday causing a stir in the streets and on social media.
A large white llama and a smaller black llama darted through the streets of Sun City during the lunch hour. Cars and golf carts stopped in their tracks because of the wayward livestock.
The fugitive llamas were part of a trio that was making a therapy visit to residents at an assisted living facility.

Arizona U.S. Sen. John McCain and the Arizona Cardinals got in on the fun. McCain tweeted that he was glad that LlamaDrama 2015 has been peacefully resolved The Cardinals tweeted that team agreed to one year deals with the llamasontheloose promising the animals a salary in hay.
Even the North American Aerospace Defense Command tweeted Llama had no known connections to ISIS. Appears to have self radicalized.
The llama saga also made Lorenzo Lamas a trending topic. Some on Twitter joked that it was actually the actor who was on the loose in Arizona.
The senior center's executive director Jill Parsons said it was the first time the facility had hosted the llamas. Sun City is a community of about 37 000 people that is primarily made up of retirees.
For more than an hour residents petted the animals and walked them up and down the halls Parsons said. Sometime after 11 a.m. the llamas' handlers took them outside for a bathroom break. That's when one got startled and took off with the second llama in pursuit.
Parsons said staff and some residents tried to help corral the animals. Even the facility's chef made an effort by waving some lettuce.
He Googled 'What do llamas like to eat' and it brought up romaine lettuce Parsons said.
Because there weren't enough people to encircle the llamas the handlers instructed everyone to slowly walk toward them with their arms out.
So many times we thought we were going to get them there and they would dart in another direction Parsons said.
The llamas got around the corner of the building and broke into a run down the street. That's when someone called 911 according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
The animals galloped along the sidewalk through manicured yards and along street medians. They thwarted numerous attempts by sheriff's deputies and bystanders to round them up before they finally were roped into custody.
The black llama was captured first. The white one was nabbed after two men in the back of a moving pickup repeatedly threw out a lasso. It took three men to secure the rope.
The entire ordeal lasted about an hour. Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Jones said nobody was hurt and the llamas were returned to their owners. No criminal charges will be filed.
Parsons declined to identify the owners saying they were somewhat embarrassed by the incident. But she said her facility would welcome them back in a heartbeat.
2 llamas briefly loose in Washington little drama
A rural area near Vancouver Washington had its own llama drama Thursday. Although while there were llamas there was little drama.
Clark County sheriff's Sgt. Fred Neiman says deputies did respond to a report of two loose llamas. He says the animals didn't stray far Thursday afternoon and weren't considered a hazard. They were corralled and back in their pasture by about 5 p.m.
The sheriff's spokesman says loose livestock calls are fairly common in the area.

Copyright 2015 Chicago TribuneThe university attended by Mohammed Emwazi the Islamic State extremist known as Jihadi John has suspended any student union event deemed sensitive a day after his identity was revealed.
The University of Westminster s decision came amid confusion over when and if an event entitled Who is Muhammad originally scheduled for Thursday night and due to feature a controversial Islamic preacher would go ahead.
A campaign to ban Sheikh Haitham al Haddad from speaking was launched after allegations were made that he has described homosexuality as a scourge and criminal act .
More than 3 000 people signed a petition to stop him speaking at the event but he insisted he should be allowed to on the grounds the event was not focused on sexuality.
The university s Islamic society was forced to postpone the event over security concerns on Thursday afternoon after Emwazi 26 was identified.
On Friday sources close to the university s Islamic Society suggested it had been rescheduled for Monday.
However the university released a statement late on Friday contradicting that and clarifying that any events that have been deemed sensitive have been suspended .
Controversy over the event came as the university confirmed that Emwazi graduated from a three year course in information systems and business management in 2009.
Haddad said the campaign against him led by the university s LGBTI society was completely misplaced because his views on sexuality were not the focus of the discussion.
In the religion of Islam it is clear cut that homosexual acts are a sin and are unlawful in sharia. Trying to censor lawful speech does not change this fact he said.
Haddad said his views were similar to those of orthodox Christian or Jewish religious leaders and that denying him a platform was to deny him his right to free speech.
The university s Islamic society defended him reiterating that sexuality was not the focus of the debate.
In a statement the society said that inviting Haddad was not intended to cause any offence but was motivated solely by his standing among religious leaders.
Peter Tatchell the prominent gay rights activist said members of University of Westminster s LGBTI society and women s rights campaigners had for years been targeted by hardline Islamist students.
The atmosphere is intimidatory towards gay and women s rights campaigners and towards fellow Muslims who don t share their hardline interpretation of Islam he told the Guardian.
Sheikh Haitham al Haddad (right). Photograph Marcel Antonisse/AFP/Getty ImagesTatchell who has given talks at the university and has close links to its LGBTI society said the group s posters had been torn down and defaced as recently as last year.
Gay and women students have also told me that they are too frightened to challenge Islamists on campus because they fear retribution he said.
A senior lecturer who declined to be named publicly said the overwhelming majority of Muslim students at the university were moderate in their beliefs and were upset that preachers such as Haddad were invited to talk at the Islamic society event.
He said the society was run by extreme figures between 2008 and 2011 but that they had all graduated.
There was now only a small number of hardline Wahabi Muslims who could cause problems he said citing the example of a Saudi Arabian student complaining six months ago that she was being shouted at by other Muslim students simply because she was Saudi .
Security on the university s four campuses has been increased in recent years with spot checks on students and restrictions on visitors. A sign at the university warns that the security alert status has been raised to amber due to a heightened state of awareness of potential security problems or threats .
The university has attempted to distance itself from Emwazi saying in a statement that it was shocked and sickened by the news.
Asked about the allegations concerning LGBT students being targeted a university spokeswoman said it condemns the promotion of radicalisation terrorism and violence or threats against any member of our community and that any student found to be engaging in radicalised activity or intimidating others would be referred to disciplinary procedures.
In a separate statement the university s Islamic society said it has nothing to do with Emwazi and added It is not associated with any extremist organisations and that should be obvious and not need stating but given the climate it has become necessary to clarify such things in statements such as this.
The general thing is it s not a crazy extremist university. Not at all. Everyone I know is condemning this Jihadi John
Naj studentSince March 2012 the university s Islamic society is estimated to have hosted 22 events featuring speakers with a history of radical Islamist views according to the Henry Jackson Society thinktank.
Previous speakers have included Anwar al Awlaki an al Qaida leader killed by a US drone strike in Yemen in September 2011 Hizb ut Tahrir member Jamal Harwood and Dr Khalid Fikry who has given speeches in which he appears to suggest that Shia Muslims believe raping a Sunni woman is a matter that pleases Allah .
Former Westminster university student Yassin Nassari was jailed in 2007 for carrying blueprints for a rocket in his luggage when stopped by police at Luton airport.
It is not known whether Nassari was radicalised at the university but his Old Bailey trial heard that after taking a break from his studies he reappeared wearing long robes and referring to himself as emir of the student s Islamic society.
In 2011 the university was in the spotlight after it emerged that the then president and a vice president of its students union had links to the extremist group Hizb ut Tahrir which has long called for the establishment of an Islamic state.
In 2012 a series of jihadist videos were posted on the Islamic society s Facebook page in support of al Shabaab the Somali Islamist terrorist group that on 21 February this year called for attacks on US UK and Canadian shopping malls.
Several students spoken to by the Guardian on Friday insisted that the university was not a hotbed of radical Islamism.
I don t want to use the word extreme it s a volatile word. There s different scales. I m a Muslim myself and there are liberal moderates and more conservative said Naj 20 a second year law student.
The general thing is it s not a crazy extremist university. Not at all. Everyone I know is condemning this Jihadi John. I don t like how the media is painting this uni to be a hub of extremism.
Recent graduate Haleema Abdullahi 22 said the university stood out due to its large Muslim population and because many students chose to wear traditional Islamic dress.
People say we re extremist the University of Westminster is very active with lots of events open to everyone and many sisters there are active. People say they are conservative as many wear abaya and hijab she said.
Abdullahi said she was sickened by Emwazi s actions but that was not fair to link him to the university because he graduated six years ago. She added Other extremists went to other unis it happens.
Speaking at the university s Regent Street campus a language masters student who declined to be named said the university may have a hardline reputation because some campuses had many Muslims.
I ve been here for four years and I haven t seen any radicalisation and the university Islamic society has made efforts to include people and invite non Muslims to events too she said.
However another student said the university was segregated between Muslims and non Muslims. If you re not a Muslim you won t know what happens in that separate community she said.

At least according to the MMA star s mother.
In an essay for espnW Rousey s sister Maria Burns Ortiz wrote that their mother AnnMaria De Mars refers to the men Rousey dates as Bob.
Via espnW
Her reasoning What s the point in learning his name if he s not going to be sticking around
She also assigns completely arbitrary numbers to each Bob to differentiate one from another. For example Ronda s last boyfriend was Bob 6. And yes she calls them that to their faces.
So how does a boyfriend move from Bob to his actual name The only way that happens is upon marrying into the family. So yes by this standard Ronda has dated only guys named Bob.
Well there you have it.

Armstrong says she lives in Brooklyn and finished the show in 13 hours and 15 minutes. She even live blogged her experience. Her latest tweet Sleeping forever byeeeee.

House of Cards is one of Netflix's original shows. The streaming media company has been heavily investing in the production of its own content over the past few years. The shows are also getting praise from critics. Kevin Spacey just won the best actor Golden Globe for his role as Frank Underwood on House of Cards.
Netflix is also planning to release movies starring Adam Sandler and the sequel for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon later this year.
Netflix has not yet responded to requests for comment.

NEW YORK (AP) Anthony Mason the rugged power forward who was a defensive force in the NBA from the 1990s into the early 21st century has died. He was 48.
The Knicks confirmed Mason's death which was first reported Saturday by the New York Daily News. He had been battling heart problems.
We would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt thoughts and strong prayers. Anthony felt each and every one. He fought like a warrior to the very end the Mason family said in a statement provided by the Knicks.
Mason won a Sixth Man Award with the Knicks and later made an All Star team but it was the toughness he provided alongside Charles Oakley while surrounding franchise center Patrick Ewing that made him beloved in New York.
MY MAN MY MAN A. MASON R.I.P WE GONNA MISS U BROTHER Oakley wrote on Twitter.
Anthony Mason exemplified perseverance for all players fighting for their chance in the NBA.
Commissioner Adam Silver
The 6 foot 7 Mason won the NBA's Sixth Man award in 1995 with a Knicks team that was eliminated in the second round of the playoffs in one of its classic clashes with the Indiana Pacers. Mason also won all defensive team honors two years later with the Charlotte Hornets.
Knicks President Phil Jackson who coached the Chicago Bulls teams against the 90s Knicks said that as a competitor there was none fiercer than Anthony Mason.
Standing on the opposite end of the playing field coaching in those great Chicago/New York battles No. 14 in the orange and blue always stood out Jackson added.
Mason's career averages 10.9 points 8.3 rebounds don't tell the full story of his game. A solid muscular presence down low Mason was there to play defense and on coach Pat Riley's bruising teams he could shine.
Mason played for New York from 1991 1996 and then for the Hornets until 2000. He made his only All Star team in 2001 as a member of the Miami Heat after reuniting with Riley.
Anthony Mason exemplified perseverance for all players fighting for their chance in the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said.
NBA fans and players around the league admired his tenacity on defense and playmaking on offense.
He wasn't all grit though. Despite his plodding look Mason was a nimble athlete and deft ballhandler who often showed up for games with words or designs styled into his hair.
Mason was drafted in the third round out of Tennessee State in 1988 by Portland but he never played for the Trail Blazers. After a brief stint overseas he played sparingly in 21 games for the New Jersey Nets and Denver Nuggets before he finally caught on with Riley's defense first Knicks in 1991. He was a force for them as they made a run to the 1994 NBA Finals and clashed with other powerful Eastern Conference teams including Michael Jordan's Bulls.
He was dealt to Charlotte in a July 1996 trade that brought Larry Johnson to New York. With the Hornets Mason played three strong seasons in four years missing 1998 99 due to injury before Riley brought him to Miami where he was coaching a Heat team that played with the same style as those Knicks teams with which Mason flourished.
At Tennessee State Mason was dominant and was the school's first All Ohio Valley Conference selection. In the 1987 88 season he took a school record 247 free throws.
Anthony Mason was born Dec. 14 1966 in Miami. He went to high school in the New York City borough of Queens where his son Anthony Jr. would later play for St. John's University before going on to a pro career in the minor leagues and overseas. Another son Antoine is at Auburn this season after transferring from Niagara where he graduated after finishing second nationally with 25.6 points per game last season.
Lupita Nyong o s one of a kind Calvin Klein dress made of over 6 000 pearls was returned to the London Hotel in West Hollywood where it was stolen on Feb. 25 sources confirm. The L.A. County Sheriff s Dept. received an anonymous call on Feb. 27 stating that the dress could be found inside a trash bag on a second floor bathroom of the hotel.
Lupita Nyongo o s Stolen Oscar Dress Returned Back To Hotel By ThiefWell that s a classy return. A man called TMZ around 2 30pm stating that he was the thief who took the dress from Lupita s hotel room.
He claimed that he and others took a couple pearls off of the dress and headed to the garment district in downtown L.A. where he was told the pearls were not real. This is a shocker since the dress is valued at $150 000
Take Our PollThe thief reportedly told TMZ the reason he returned the dress was to let the world know Hollywood s fake bulls t.
TMZ contacted the L.A. Coutny Sheriff s Department who then retrieved the bag in a garment bag inside a trash bag underneath a bathroom sink. Detectives are working to uncover if the dress returned is in fact the real dress stolen from Lupita s hotel room.
Lupita Nyong o s Oscar Dress Stolen From Hotel RoomLupita s custom made Calvin Klein creation which she wore at the Oscar Awards in LA on Feb. 22 was snatched from her room between 8AM 9PM on Feb. 24 as we previously reported.
The dress was on a loan from the fashion house which is why Lupita was unable to file the police report herself.
We re glad the mystery of Lupita s dress was solved. Worthless or not Lupita stunned on the carpet and had one of the best looks of the night

An overnight storm that pelted parts of Texas and Oklahoma with freezing rain has forced the cancellation of nearly 1 000 flights at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport including several to and from Portland International Airport.
Transportation officials and the National Weather Service warned people to stay off the roads until temperatures rise and the ice melts. Forecasters issued a winter weather advisory for the Dallas Fort Worth area until Saturday night.
Flight tracker Flightaware.com reported 974 flights canceled at DFW airport by late Saturday morning.
Airport spokesman David Magana says about 5 000 stranded passengers were forced to spend the night at the airport after another 600 flights were canceled Friday. The airport provided cots blankets and toiletries to the passengers.
Area temperatures are expected in the upper 40s Sunday.

This isn't just speculation it's a fact What the majority of us read share and discuss is not hard news oriented at all. A new study led by applied mathematicians at the University of Vermont and Mitre Corp. analyzed the emotional content of the news we share online. And no matter the source of the news or the language we use positive words more and overwhelmingly share positive stories over the negative news.
And according to a study done by BuzzSumo a content discovery and measurement software company the emotions that make a story go viral are not fear and anger they are awe laughter and amusement.
Their analysis of 10 000 most viral articles proved this point overwhelmingly.
Another case On Friday came news of Leonard Nimoy's death after a long and prosperous life. Quickly his most inspiring quotes discussion of his influence on American culture not to mention tributes of the Vulcan salute began trending all over the Internet as we moved on from the dress and the llamas to bond over our shared awe and admiration of a great man.
All this doesn't mean we're uninterested in more intellectual topics it simply points to a positivity bias in the stories we pay attention to most online. In addition to the internal positive boost we feel positive stories typically help us feel connected to others. What's more amusing than looking at a dress is debating the dress with your friends and family. And as we reflect on Nimoy's life we can't help but reflect on a part of our own growing up with the shared experience across American culture of watching Star Trek.
As for the dress by the way neuroscientists who study color have an explanation for why it appears to be blue and black to some of us but white and gold to the rest of us. In fancy terms it has to do with the way in which light enters your eye the chromatic axis variation thanks to daylight and the fact that different colors have different wave lengths.
There are a lot of technical terms to describe the phenomenon of the dress but I explained it to my 9 year old this way When we look at the same object our eyes and brains can make us see different things. It happens with kale my husband and I see a delicious plate of greens our kids see something you should feed to those llamas that ran amok this week in Sun City Arizona. Voil the dress mystery has been solved.
Unfortunately that means we can all go back to work now.

TYRONE Mo. A door to door killing spree that left eight people dead in a rural Missouri community may have been triggered by the alleged gunman finding his mother dead in her home the county coroner said Friday. The woman apparently died of natural causes.
The suspect was identified as Joseph Jesse Aldridge 36 of Tyrone Mo. the son of Alice Aldridge 74 who was found dead on her couch in the small wood frame house they shared Texas County Sheriff James Sigman said Friday.
Aldridge was found dead of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound in adjoining Shannon County about 15 miles from Tyrone in south central Missouri. Sigman said the suspect was found in his pickup in the middle of the road.
The authorities identified at least four of the victims as Aldridge's cousins Garold Dee Aldridge 52 Julie Ann Aldridge 47 Harold Wayne Aldridge 50 and Janell Arlisa Aldridge 48 the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

In our job we see a lot of bad stuff and this is bad this is also hard on the police officers who are working that there Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Kinder told reporters. It's not natural to see that sort of thing.
All of the shootings took place within a three mile radius of this tight knit community the highway patrol said. The names of the other three victims were still being withheld.
Deputies found bodies in five separate homes after responding to a 911 call around 10 15 p.m. Thursday regarding a disturbance.
The caller a 15 year old girl reported hearing shots in her house and had fled to a neighbor's home to call the sheriff's office Texas County Coroner Tom Whittaker told KSDK TV's Mike Rush.
That neighbor who declined to give his name told the Springfield News Leader that the girl was crying when she knocked on his door and told him that her mother and father had been shot.
She was barefoot in a nightgown with no sleeves at all and her legs were all scratched up from briars he said. She said she seen a man in her dad's bedroom talking to him in a normal voice. Then she said she heard gunshots and screaming.
Over the next three hours deputies found two bodies a man and a woman at the first house then five more bodies at three more homes. In addition one woman was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds. A 10 year old boy was asleep in one of the homes during the shooting spree and was not injured.
The shooting victims included three women and four men ranging in age from the early 40s to mid 60s. Some had been shot in the head. All had been shot by a large caliber handgun.

BEHIND THE BLOODSHED THE UNTOLD STORY OF AMERICA'S MASS KILLINGS
Alice Aldridge's body was found at yet another residence. Officers had gone to the house the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports looking for the younger Aldridge because the survivor at one of the crime scenes had identified him as the gunman.
Whittaker said Aldridge who was in her 70s and under a doctor's care had been dead at least 24 hours. He also said there were no visible signs of trauma indicating she died of her undisclosed illness.
Whittaker said he believes the killing spree was sparked by Joseph Aldridge's discovery of his mother's body. The coroner did not speculate on why the gunman's victims were targeted.
Aldridge's body was found just outside the gate to Warren Barnes' goat ranch in Summersville.
Barnes whose son used to be friends with Aldridge told the News Leader that he and his wife were awakened late Thursday by the sound of what they thought was snow or ice coming off the house but was instead a gunshot.
Hours later they were awakened again this time by a knock on the door from highway patrol officers who had just discovered Aldridge's body nearby.
Barnes said his son had told Aldridge about a year ago to stop contacting him because Aldridge was involved with drugs. He had just got too strange acting and was saying real off the wall crazy stuff Barnes said.
But earlier in his life Barnes said Aldridge was a real quiet person although he didn't have a good home life.
He was quiet nice didn't get into fights at school stuff like that he said.

Kelly Osbourne will be leaving E s Fashion Police the network announced on Friday.
Kelly Osbourne is departing E s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years during which time the show became a hit with viewers. Fashion Police will return as scheduled on Friday March 30th at 9 00 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement the network said in a statement.
This announcement comes days after comments were made by Osbourne s Fashion Police co star Giuliana Rancic regarding singer and actress Zendaya s dreadlocked hair at the Sunday night Oscars.
On Monday night s episode of Fashion Police Rancic said I feel like she smells like patchouli oil and weed about Zendaya s hair.
Osbourne reacted very strongly to the comment on social media tweeting that she might leave the show because of it.

Zendaya posted a response to Rancic s criticism of her dreadlocks on Instagram on Monday night after which Rancic issued an on air apology to Zendaya on Tuesday.
Following the apology Osbourne tweeted it takes a strong woman to apologize.

And that s not me being racist I am just stating an obvious that people with less pigment in their skin age faster because you can see their fine lines and wrinkles more. She is starting to look like Elizabeth Taylor which is not a good thing and she is only like 34 and Elizabeth Taylor Dolly Parton or Susan Summers and these are all middle aged white women im comparing her too. sad
Share this comment atWhile the white (and gold) vs. black (and blue) debate over TheDress continues to divide and alter life as we know it another far more insidious color war is raging in America Racists are outraged over the interracial coupling in the movie Focus between Will Smith an African American man and his Australian co star Margot Robbie a white woman.
The onetime Men in Black and Independence Day blockbuster king stars in the R rated romantic caper as a charismatic con artist who welcomes Robbie s femme fatale in training to his operation and falls for her against his better judgment. It s a rare sensual role for Smith who gets steamy with Robbie in a few sex scenes that are actually conservatively shot and disappointingly brief. But boy does their onscreen love affair have racists panties in a bunch.
Anyone getting fed up with all this race mixing being shoved down our throats wrote YouTube user Shomanoman on a trailer page for Focus.
YUCK Race mixing Trash propaganda by Hollyjewed again declared Kriegen Gegen Das System managing to squeeze in a shot at Tinseltown s Jewish population while they were at it.
Comments like these skyrocketed this month ahead of Focus s theatrical release sparking a wave of counter commenters who jumped to defend Smith and interracial representation in movies.
Contrary to Shomanoman s claim rampant race mixing is still conspicuously non existent in Hollywood where skin tones have to match if love or sex is in the cards for two characters. Just look to Smith s own filmography In his two decades as a bona fide leading man he s never before gotten down with a white woman onscreen.
When he almost did in the 2005 romantic comedy Hitch opposite would be co star Cameron Diaz she was recast. Eva Mendes got the gig and Smith blamed Hollywood.
How are you not going to consider Cameron Diaz That becomes massive news in the US. Outside America it's no big deal. But in the US it's still a racial issue Female First UK quoted him saying in 2005. Ironically Hollywood is happy to do it if the film is about racism. But they won't simply do it and ignore it.
Even before he was a movie star Smith addressed the flip side of interracial controversy on the second season of his TV sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. In the 1991 episode Guess Who s Coming To Marry Will s aunt Janice introduces the family to her fianc a white man upsetting Will s mother so much she refuses to attend the wedding. The family is taken aback but for the sake of the children have the decency to temper the way they discuss their initial prejudice ( She didn t mention he was tall )
Despite that nod to Stanley Kramer s 1967 landmark examination of interracial marriage in America Smith didn t have a single white girlfriend over the course of six seasons of Fresh Prince. When Focus was in its early stages it was to star Kristen Stewart before she bailed citing the 20 year age difference between her and Smith. That didn t stop media gossipers from speculating that her exit was race related.
Smith s grown man sexy in Focus may not be as stimulating as it could or should be for that blame the abbreviated love scenes on writer directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and a chemistry with Robbie that s stronger in off set photo booth selfies than on the actual screen. At least the tastefully luxe grown up affair is a step in the right direction. And that s a start to making all of the Internet racists nightmares finally come true.

Kelly Osbourne has quit E 's Fashion Police reportedly because of co host Giuliana Rancic's comments that Disney star Zendaya's dreadlocks smelled like patchouli oil and weed at the Oscars. The network announced her departure in a boilerplate statement thanking her for her many contributions and saying that Osbourne was leaving to pursue other opportunities. She hasn't released a statement herself.
After Rancic's comments Zendaya posted a statement on Instagram where she wrote There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair. Rancic posted a video apology for her comments which Zendaya accepted and Osbourne seemed to have. In the initial dust up Kelly Osbourne tweeted that Zendaya was a friend of hers and threatened to quit unless the matter was resolved.
you guys do realize that Zendaya is my friend right
Kelly Osbourne ( KellyOsbourne) February 24 2015I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW
Kelly Osbourne ( KellyOsbourne) February 24 2015Us Weekly reported that there was some backstage rancor with Osbourne warning Rancic not to make the joke and reminding everyone that Zendaya was a friend. If all of this is true talk about throwing down for a pal.
And yes Mommie Osbourne totally supports her daughter.

Sharon Osbourne ( MrsSOsbourne) February 28 2015A cartoon is worth a thousand tweets when it comes to the debate over whether the dress is white and gold or blue and black. And to that end internet nerd cartoon XKCD posted this illustration that makes pretty clear what's going on with the mystery dress.
Color is a function of light
When you look at the original photo your eye is naturally drawn to the dress in the center of the image. But your interpretation of the dress depends on the way your eye perceives the light around it.
Because both blue and yellow tinged light are present in the image background some people's brains perceive the original image as being lit by blue light (or just the photograph being tinted blue) while others perceive the whole scene as being lit by yellow light. But while our brains are making that judgment we're actually focused on the dress and so we're expressing the outcome of an automatic unconscious judgment about the light as a judgment about the color of the dress.
XKCD's illustration forces that process into conscious thought. The dress colors are the same on both sides. It's the backgrounds that vary. And so what looks gold on the left looks much darker on the right which is why some people see that color as blue and others as brown or black. Vox's Joe Posner annotated XKCD's illustration a bit to make this even clearer
This is a well known optical illusion
Let's take this beyond the dress. Look at this checkerboard with a weird cylinder casting a shadow over it
The squares marked A and B are exactly the same shade of gray. Here's Posner's modification again
As with many so called illusions this effect really demonstrates the success rather than the failure of the visual system writes Edward Abelson who posted the illusion. The visual system is not very good at being a physical light meter but that is not its purpose. The important task is to break the image information down into meaningful components and thereby perceive the nature of the objects in view.
The original photograph of the dress isn't meant to be an optical illusion. And so there's no comparison on the screen that helps you switch your perception of it back and forth. As such people are getting locked into their first perception because the brain is trying to help them perceive the object in view not try to help them interrogate the nature of light and color.
What's happening here is your visual system is looking at this thing and you're trying to discount the chromatic bias of the daylight axis neuroscientist Bevil Conway told Wired. So people either discount the blue side in which case they end up seeing white and gold or discount the gold side in which case they end up with blue and black.

I give that description as a huge fan. I literally have prints of XKCD cartoons hanging in my house.
In just a few short years Ronda Rousey's arm bar submission hold has taken its place in the MMA world as a signature move much in the same way Kareem Abdul Jabbar's sky hook shot did in basketball Reggie White's swim move did on the line in football and Sandy Koufax's curveball did from the mound in baseball. Everyone knew those moves were coming but they were so perfectly and uniquely executed that they still couldn't be stopped.
Since transitioning to MMA the Olympic judo medalist Rousey has 11 arm bar submission wins in 13 fights. As an amateur MMA fighter Rousey won all three of her bouts by arm bar.
Then she went on to rattle off eight straight arm bar wins as a professional. Her last two wins have come by way of knockout thanks to her ever improving striking game but the grappler is still most known for her throws and the arm bar submission that her Judo world champion mother first began to teach her as a child.
The straight arm bars that Rousey has pulled off are basic MMA moves that all fighters learn. Like all great competitors however Rousey has managed to perfect and then tweak a basic set of movements to get dominant results.
No one stops Rousey's arm bar and that has a lot to do with small but crucial nuances invisible to the naked eye. According to retired former three time world title challenger and current FOX Sports UFC analyst Kenny Florian that is in large part due to the unorthodox way Rousey sets up the hold.
SPEED KILLS
I met Florian on the mats at Dynamix MMA in Los Angeles recently to get his analysis of Rousey's signature move and he said that Rousey's arm bar is different than everyone else's because she skips some time consuming steps and throws out the textbook when applying the sub.
Take for example the way Rousey sets up her arm bar from the side mount position. Most fighters will segment a far side arm bar into several pieces before attempting to fall back and extend their opponent's elbow joint to force a submission or painful injury.
While on top and cross siding an opponent most fighters reach to the far side arm under hook it then lift and pull it to their own chest as they sit up on their knees. At that point many fighters then step over the head of their grounded opponent with the nearest knee placing them vertically over their foe.
Then comes the final step of sliding completely to what was earlier the far side of their opponent's body while falling backwards with the arm hugged close to their chest and at least the leg nearest the opponent's head going over the head and pressing down. As Florian explained Rousey turns those three steps into one fluid and quick motion.
Rousey reaches for the far side arm and then swings all the way across her opponent's body bringing both legs over their body in one fell swoop. There is no step over then slide back with Rousey's far side arm bar.
Instead she snatches then swings completely over in one motion. This gives her opponents less time to react and try to escape.
THROWING OUT THE OLD RULES
The dreaded Ronda Rousey arm bar that you want no part of.
That's the first thing that Rousey does in a different manner than is usually taught by submission instructors. The second according to Florian is how she positions her legs once they are over the body and head of her opponent.
The textbook way most people are taught to lock down that position and keep an opponent on their back as you attempt to hyperextend their arm in the straight lock is to straighten out and lock down the legs especially the one over the head while pinching your knees together.
The idea there is to keep the opponent from crunching up and in toward the lock and perhaps then getting to their own knees or feet and stacking all their weight on top of the submission hunter in order to prevent their arm from being stretched out painfully. More than that however that way of positioning your legs is meant to isolate the targeted arm.
Rousey positions her legs in a different and perhaps better way to accomplish the former goal while mostly disregarding the latter.
First off Rousey crosses her ankles while sitting back for the arm bar. Most of us are taught to never do that for some reason.
Rousey however crosses the ankle of the leg over her opponent's body on top of the ankle of the leg over her opponent's head. That adds a degree of locking or pressure onto the head keeping it down.
Second Rousey bows her knees outward creating an oval like shape when viewed from above with her legs. The textbook way of positioning your knees for a straight arm bar is to pinch them together as close as possible in hopes of tightening up around the arm and isolating it further.
Rousey however ignores that goal and focuses on keeping her opponent's head down on the mat. The bowed wide knee and leg on the head creates much more downward pressure on the head than the traditional pinched knee way of doing it.
Florian demonstrated on me and the physical contrast was stark. When he pinched his knees it felt somewhat possible to turn towards him and begin to attempt to stack my weight on him.
But when he bowed his legs all of the sudden I had a knee pressing down on my mouth head and neck and it felt nearly impossible to sit up and stack him. I'd always incorrectly thought that Rousey's bowed leg arm bar set up was a liability until Florian showed me just how much of an asset it is for the Rowdy one.
Rousey also uses that leg positioning when she goes for the arm bar off of her own back. Florian once again demonstrated on me and even there while standing over him with all my weight above him it was very difficult to stack him once he bowed his legs.
The knee pressing on my face tilted and angled my head away from him and as the head goes the body follows. With my eyes and head pointed away from Florian because of his employing Rousey's bowed leg positioning it was difficult to press towards and into him.
To sum up Rousey skipping steps and swinging right into finishing position gives her arm bar a speed that others don't have in theirs. Then her purposeful tossing out of the textbook when it comes to leg positioning on her opponent switches the focus from the traditional isolating of the opponent arm to instead focusing on keeping the head pressed against the mat and thereby taking away one of the opponent's best options of defense.
Now that I've got a better understanding of how and why Rousey has been so predictably successful with her signature move it will help me understand her actions as I watch UFC 184's main event between her and Zingano.
Join me in looking for those subtle arm bar details Saturday so that if Rousey does manage to score another arm bar win you'll look like the smartest guy or gal around the water cooler on Monday explaining it to all the impressed stiffs around you. Don't worry we won't tell anyone you heard it from us first.
