North Naples resident Ted Shiro learned on national TV Monday night that he's likely gaining a new semi famous granddaughter in law.

Josh Murray 29 of Athens Ga. was one of two finalists in Monday's season finale of ABC's The Bachelorette. This year's Bachelorette former Atlanta prosecutor Andi Dorfman was choosing between Murray and Wisconsin native Nick Viall. Murray is the older brother of Aaron Murray a former University of Georgia quarterback who is now playing for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs and Shiro's grandson.

Shiro who lives in Pelican Marsh in North Naples said he's been watching Murray in every episode. Shiro's daughter the mother of Josh and Aaron visited him recently and told Shiro that there's a strong possibility Josh would win The Bachelorette and proposes to Dorfman.

With the rest of the fans Shiro watched as Dorfman chose Murray in the two hour season finale.

Murray appeared relieved when Dorfman admitted her love. He smiled and said she had him worried she was not going to choose him.

Then Murray surprised Dorfman when he said I can't wait to start our lives together and sank down on one knee to propose.

The Murrays grew up in Tampa but have visited their grandfather often. Three years ago Josh and Aaron Murray helped him move into Pelican Marsh.
