According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter Nebraska edge rusher Randy Gregory and his agents asked teams that were considering drafting Gregory to provide him with a personal handler and security detail to follow him at all times. Here's Schefter via Facebook
Randy Gregory's representatives made it clear that whichever team drafts him needs to have a support system in place that would be expected to include a security person and a personal handler who would follow Gregory at all times. To Gregory and his representatives it didn't matter where in the draft he went but where in the NFL he went. He was adamant that it would be with a team that would support him. Dallas has been through similar experiences in the past providing helpers to wide receiver Dez Bryant after he was drafted. And there are expected to be Gregory Rules and followers in Dallas as well. The Dallas Cowboys who wound up drafting Gregory with the 60th overall pick have been known to institute similar provisions before notably with wide receiver Dez Bryant (as Schefter noted) who also fell in the draft because of perceived behavioral issues.
Upon being drafted by the Cowboys Gregory told assembled media Me and the Cowboys are going to take over the league. He had stated earlier in the night I honestly think I'm elite. But I also have problems. I have some issues I'm taking care of and those I think are up in the air obviously because I haven't been picked yet. The Cowboys obviously feel confident they can manage those problems as they did with Bryant's even if the supposed problems are different in nature.
