The ABC miniseries The Astronauts Wives Club which debuted Thursday (June 18) on WGNO filmed around the New Orleans area in late 2014 and early 2015. Based on a book by Lily Koppel and depicting the lives of the wives of America's first astronauts the show recounts the backstage drama of the space race covering a period from the late 1950s to the early 1970s and taking place in locations ranging from Virginia to Texas to Florida (all faked locally).
