Watch These Amazing Reactions To Insane Mode In The Tesla Model S P85D

Last year Tesla Motors Tesla Motors announced a dual motor version of the Model S vehicle called the P85D. One of the biggest differences between the original Model S and the P85D is acceleration. The original Model S goes from 0 60MPH in 5.9 seconds but the Model S P85D can hit the same speed in 3.2 seconds when it is on Insane Mode. The P85D is 691 horsepower and has 687 lb ft of torque which is comparable to cars like Lamborghinis Gallardos Porsche Porsche 911 GT3s and McLaren F1s.

To activate the top speed in the Model S P85D you have to bring the car to a stop and then push the Insane Mode button. In the options selection you ll be able to choose between three settings Normal. Sport. And Insane said Tesla Motors chief executive officer Elon Musk when he announced the vehicle. Yeah it will actually say Insane. Insane Mode creates a force of about 1.2Gs which is powered by separate motors that control the front wheels and the rear wheels. The top speed of the P85D is 155MPH.

DragTimes a YouTube channel known for testing out the speeds of sports cars recently posted a video compilation of the reactions that people have while sitting in the Model S P85D when Insane Mode is activated. One of my favorite parts in the video is when a kid sitting in the back loses the grip on her smartphone and it goes flying back. Here is the video of the P85D in Insane Mode

Tesla Motors announced the P85D in early October at a base price of $120 170. Three weeks later InsideEVs reported that Tesla started letting consumers opt out of certain features. Consumers previously had to buy the P85D with Tech Smart Air and 21 inch wheel packages for the highest end AWD but now those features are no longer necessary. You can also opt out of the Black Textile Seats. This brought the new base price of the Tesla Model S P85D to $105 670 making it $14 500 cheaper.
