TUSCALOOSA Both Alabama coach Nick Saban and Missouri s Gary Pinkel spent a mandatory 30 minutes on the SEC Championship Game coaches teleconference Sunday.

The Crimson Tide s win over Auburn didn t finish until late in the night so that coupled with other responsibilities hadn t given Saban much time to study the Tide's opponent in Saturday's SEC title game Missouri.

But Saban did however provide updates on some key injured players and other news.

The biggest piece of injury news was the status of starting left tackle Cam Robinson. Saban said Robinson suffered a sprained shoulder in the Iron Bowl.

We re hopeful that he ll be back in a day or two and be able to practice Saban said. Right now he s day to day.

The injury happened on quarterback Blake Sims 11 yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Robinson left the game and didn t return. Starting right tackle Austin Shepherd moved to Robinson s spot and sophomore Grant Hill came in at right tackle.

Along with moving parts on the offensive line the Tide also did some shuffling in the secondary but not because of injuries.

Tide cornerback Eddie Jackson was repeatedly torched by Auburn s wide receivers in the first half.

Because of the complicated schemes Alabama runs on defense it is often tough to tell if a cornerback is truly getting beaten or if he was supposed to have safety help.

But on the big plays Jackson allowed he appeared to be beaten in man to man coverage.

Jackson took to Twitter after the game to address his performance.

I played a horrible game yesterday I apologize to all my fans but all I know how to do is Bounce Back Believe that Jackson wrote.

Jackson gave up plays to both Auburn wide receiver Sammie Coates and Duke Williams. Jackson was lined up on Coates on the touchdowns of 34 and 68 yards in the second quarter.

Jackson was replaced by freshman Tony Brown to start the second half. Brown didn t last long as he was in coverage on an Auburn touchdown at the start of the third quarter. Junior Bradley Sylve came in for Brown and finished the game.

Saban said Sylve did a nice job during his time but he wasn t ready to declare a starter.

We ll see how things go in practice this week and make a decision later on in the week about that Saban said.

The cornerbacks weren t the only players to rotate. Alabama also used multiple kickers. After sitting out against Western Carolina to rest an injury Alabama kicker Adam Griffith was in for the game s opening kickoff on Saturday. Griffith sent it out of bounds and was taken off of kickoff duties for the rest of the game.

True freshman punter JK Scott took over the kickoff duties with walk on Gunnar Raborn filling in on extra points and field goals. But after Raborn had an extra point blocked midway through the third Griffith was forced back into action.

We want Griff to kick Saban said. We re trying to manage him through some of his health issues. Hopefully he ll feel a little better and do a little more kicking and be ready to kick in the game.
